PRIVACY NOTICE
SLU VIRTUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY - AUGUST 2021

SLU graduation ceremonies are momentous events for you, our graduates, your

parents; guests; and the SLU administration, staff, and faculty. SLU takes pride in

making this public event a day to remember for you dear graduates and your

families.

In compliance to Data Privacy Act of 2012 (R.A. 10173), its Implementing Rules and

Regulations, and other applicable laws, SLU is committed to protecting information

of its data subjects. As SLU holds its second virtual graduation ceremony, this notice

explains how your personal data will be collected, used, and shared. It also explains

how your rights in relation to the information SLU has about you will be protected.

This notice pertains to all students who applied for graduation.

In the management of the virtual graduation ceremony, SLU will collect and share

the following information about each graduate:

Full Name;

Program of Study Completed;

Academic Performance (Honors and/or Awards/PRC Professional License);

Hometown;

Scholarship Grant (if applicable); and

Digital image (Photos)

Except for the graduation photo, the mentioned information were directly collected

from the student information system and from the application for graduation form

that you have filled out. You have to send your graduation photo electronically to

your respective Department Heads.

Your name, program of study, hometown, and scholarship/award/PRC Professional

License (as applicable) will be published in the virtual graduation video, the SLU

website and/or official SLU Social Media Account. If you have given your consent,

these may also be posted in bulletins in the university and/or publications, if any, as

may be deemed necessary by the University.

The University processes the information for graduation for the following purposes:

1. To carry out a graduation ceremony for the performance of the contract of the

University with you, as initiated when you submitted your personal data in the

application for graduation;

2. To confer your degrees, qualifications, honor, and awards; and

3. To record and report graduates who are qualified alumni after successfully

obtaining their qualifications.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can request specific personal data which you want or do not want to

appear on the video and/or other media channels. You must send your signed

formal request to upelc@slu.edu.ph not later than July 16, 2021.

By affixing your signatures above your printed names, you and your parents agree

to the terms and conditions of this notice.
