Glazing Colors
Acrylic is used for both dome and pyramid skylights, while flat insulated glass units are used for flat
skylights. The charts below indicate approximate
values of our standard glazing options.

SOLAR TRANSMITTANCE - is the percentage of ultraviolet, visible and near infra-red energy (300 -
3000 nm) that is transmitted through the glazing over
the complete solar spectrum.

LIGHT TRANSMITTANCE - is the percentage of visible light (380 - 780 nm) that is transmitted through
the glazing.

SHADING COEFFICIENT - is the ratio of the total solar heat gain through a specific glazing system
that is relative to the solar heat gain through a 1/8"
(3mm) ply of clear double strength glass under identical
conditions. As the shading coefficient number decreases, heat gain is reduced, which means a
better performing
product.
