Unit 1: The Spanish Alphabet, Vowels, Diphthongs, and Consonants

Introduction

This unit introduces you to the basic composition of letter – and – sound correspondence of
the Spanish Language to enable you to speak correctly the words in each phrases and
sentences of the said language. This unit further helps you figure out how the phonemic
components present in a given word or group of words in written form.

Instructional Objectives

At the end of this unit, I am able to:

1. Write the Spanish alphabet;

2. Give the correct names and corresponding sounds of each Spanish alphabet; and,

3. Observe correct pronunciation of familiar Spanish words.
