Question: Do you think the vision of Department of Education can provide a healthy environment
and avoid discrimination towards child with Special Needs?

Having a disability can be one of the most marginalizing factors in a child’s life. In education,
finding ways to meet the learning needs of students with disabilities can be challenging. But I believe that
everyone is united in a common commitment to ensuring success for each child. I somehow gave my yes
that the vision of Department of Education can provide a healthy environment and eliminate
discrimination on the basis of disability against students with disabilities. In behalf of Department’s thrust
in providing quality of basic education for all, definitely the vision of Department of Education (DepEd)
as we can see nowadays continues to provide the necessary educational interventions for learners with
certain exceptionalities. Furthermore, the vision of DepEd it is about to enlighten the facts that we are
learner-centered public institution, the Department of Education continuously improve itself to better
serve its stakeholder. So, literally the DepEd vision can be instrument to avoid this set up that a child with
special needs will never be discriminated through the help of our guardian/teacher that can be a role
model to everyone that is not upright to discriminate a person capability. All human rights are interlinked.
This includes the right to education. It is not possible to achieve an effective education and healthy
environment unless other rights are realized. And if the right to education is fulfilled, it leads to the
realization of other rights even a child with special needs can have own potentials for development and
productivity as well as being capable of self-expression of his/her rights in society. Then it will result a
healthy environment to a child with special needs.

Question: In your own point of view, is it achievable/ possible to attain the goals of the Department
of Education?

To be precise the goals of the Department of Education is to develop moral character, personal
discipline, civic-consciousness, love of country, vocational efficiency and to teach the duties of
citizenships. Yes, for me it’s possible that we can attain the goals of Department of education through our
willingness to developed us as a person. Education puts the child in the centre and helps it to reach his/her
full potential. Also, there’s a teacher that will help and guide the student to be responsible and to have
determination to learn on how to accomplish his/her objectives to create own foundation for educational
goals. Therefore, it’s my firm believed that as a student it is our duty to attain the goals of Department of
Education because it led to empowerment to process of strengthening individuals. Today let’s think about
what we, the youth, can do to make changes. In conclusion, as Dr.Jose Rizal said “Ang kabataan ay ang
Pag-asa ng Bayan” so it still achievable/possible that we can conquer the goal of Department of
Education.
