Quality Assurance Plan

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Quality of Construction mainly depend upon

1) Construction Materials
2) Quality of Workmanship

IFCI Infrastructure Development Ltd

Quality Assurance Plan

Quality of Material to be Assured & Control by

Control of Incoming Materials by inspection procedure:

 Submission of approved product (Material) Catalogues, Broucher with Technical

Information
 Submission of Material’s “CHALLAN” mentioning Lot no, Make/Brand, Type, Grade,
Qty, etc.
 Checking of Manufacture Testing Certificate (MTC) as per received materials on site
based on Lot no, Make, etc.
 Maintain Material Register regularly.

Lay down Testing Procedure:

Materials Sampling Frequency
 As specified in I.S. Codes, MORTH, IRC OR
 As specified in Specifications or as per Project requirements (with consultation of
Architect, PMC/Consultants, Contractor)

IFCI Infrastructure Development Ltd

Quality Assurance Plan

Acceptance Criteria / Limits of Construction Materials

 As specified in I.S. Codes, MORTH, IRC OR
 As specified in Specifications (Ex. Fly Ash materials in RMC not more than 25 % +
1% of total Cement + Fly Ash materials)

Materials Testing & Record Keeping Procedure:

 All Construction Materials require to be tested according to QAP frequency prior to
execution of work
 Sampling procedures are follow as per I.S. Codes
 Samples of Material must be taken in presence of PMC Engineer
 Use “Sample Card” for Sampling & Record purpose
 Carrying out Calibration of Laboratory Equipment prior to test
 Samples should be tested in Approved Laboratory only
 Adopt Testing Methodology as per I.S. Codes while material testing
 Require Laboratory Testing Report (LTR), Mix Design Report in specific format with
comments: Accepted or Not Accepted

IFCI Infrastructure Development Ltd

Quality Assurance Plan

 Recommendations & Approval of materials to be issue by respective Authorities

 Remove materials immediately from site, if not Approved

Major Construction materials require to be test:

Water
Cement
Fine Aggregate (Sand)
Coarse Aggregates (Metal, Kapchi, Grit)
Bricks
Reinforcement Steel
Concrete Cube
Ready Mix Concrete
Precast Concrete Blocks
Terrazzo/Mosaic Tiles, Vitrified Tiles
Precast C.C. Paver Block
Seasoned & Chemical Treated Wood

Quality of Workmanship to be Assured & Control by

Workmanship, Inspection & Record Keeping Procedure:

 Require detailed study of Drawings, Technical Specifications, Methodology as well

as knowledge of I.S. Codes prior to work
 Construction must be executed as per drawings (Good for Construction) & as per
Technical Specifications
 Perfection require in Line, Level, Plumb, Mixing, Compacting, Position & size of
Cover, Curing, De-Shuttering period/ Good Construction practice for achieving
Quality of Workmanship
 Request For Inspection (RFI) to be issue prior to execution for inspection of work
 List out Audit points, Remarks & Giving necessary Guidelines to agency
 Status of Compliance of Audit point
