Welcome back! I hope that everyone had a nice Spring Break and enjoyed E uper Lane
the much needed rest. The last nine weeks of school always seem to pass the Elementary

Nacho Night last month. Our Partners in Education who donated were Harp’s
and Great American Cookie Company. Other donations received were from
K-MAC Enterprise, Reddy Ice, Coke, and Laura and Keith Blythe. Also, a APRIL
big thanks to Kristy Robison, Monica Baber and Brandy Kilgore for working 2011
so hard at the Book Fair and to Marcie McKinney, Martha Van Asche, Ann
Filyaw, and Homeroom Parents for all their hard work and effort. Thank you I N SI DE
to the many who contributed items to the silent auction. The combined
fundraisers were a huge success thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers at Super Euper
Euper Lane.
Fun Run
Thank you to Lisa Spears for providing breakfast to the Teachers and
Staff during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Shera Bean and Barbara Petrus
provided donuts to approximately 50 students for perfect attendance. Thank you Nacho
for providing this wonderful treat and recognizing this great accomplishment. Night

Cheryl Maxwell has been at it again with another "Dinner Out" Skate
Night at Crystal Palace. Thank you Cheryl for giving us wonderful options to Bank

committee are hard at work on our Super Euper Family Fun Run scheduled for
Saturday, April 30, 2011 - they are also working on details for fun Earth Week

I want to thank our Partner in Education Outback Steakhouse for
donating a Joey Party to the class who had the most attendees for Super Euper
Nacho Night. Mrs. Willis’ Fifth Grade Class won this wonderful event. The P E New s
party went to Outback, learned how to make a Bloomin’ Onion in the kitchen and
received an education on the animals in the "Outback" of Australia. Samples of
the Bloomin’ Onion were served along with lunch. Thanks again to Dustin and Wrestle

Shores Lake is a nice place to
camp and have picnics. You
can climb on big rocks, see the
spillway, and swim in the water
when it’s warm enough. There
is a great view from the top of
the rocks, but you have to
work hard to get up there.
There is even a campsite on
top of the rocks. The spillway
is very tall. You can get close,
but it’s a hard hike. And you
want to watch out for snakes,
spiders, lizards, butterflies, and
sometimes turtles. We saw a
big snake eating a fish by the
water. It was a copperhead
(we think) and I wasn’t scared
but my sister was. We stayed
far away and took pictures.
Shores Lake is not too far from
Mulberry. It takes about an
hour to get there from Fort
Smith.

It’s ACTAAP TIME!
The ACTAAP (Arkansas Comprehensive Testing, Assess-
ment, and Accountability Program) tests will be adminis-
tered during the month of April. Kindergarten, First, and
Second grades will take their tests on the
mornings of Tuesday - April 5, Wednesday - April 6 and
Thursday - April 7. Third, Fourth, and Sixth grades have
testing from Tuesday, April 12th through Friday, April 15th.
The Fifth grades will test the entire week of April 11th
through April 15th. The older grades will test all morning
on their testing days and some afternoons. Check with
your child’s teacher as it gets closer to these dates for
exact times. It is very important that your child be
here for the testing and be on time. Also, make sure
they are well-rested and eat breakfast. You can also help
by encouraging your child to keep a positive attitude and
to do their best. Thanks for your help!

You’ve Only Got One - Super Euper Fun Run is BACK!
The second annual Super Euper Fun
Run will be held on Saturday, April You’ve Only Got One!
30th at 9 AM. Entry fees are $5 for
students and $10 for adults with a
maximum of $20 per family. Each
registered participant will receive a
goody bag and t-shirt with a
custom design by the winner of our
t-shirt contest. The theme for this
year’s run and Earth Week is

Super Euper Nacho Night was a Spicy Success!

On behalf of Barbara and myself, we wanted to thank everyone who participated in Super
Euper Nacho Night. We could not have done it without you. It was a huge success. The
Homeroom Moms submitted amazing baskets for auction. Ann, Martha and Marcie did an
outstanding job on obtaining really awesome auction items. Thank you to all of you who bid
so generously.
Thanks to Shelly, who got so many food items donated, like chips from Taco Bell, cookies
from Great American Cookie Company, lettuce and tomatoes from Harp’s, and several
other items. We also want to thank Walmart and Sam's for their monetary donation. A
special thanks to our P.T.A. President, Jill, for helping with all the odds and ends that Barbara
and I just didn't have time to do. We really appreciate all of you who helped in the kitchen
serving, especially Teresa. We could not have done it without you.
I also wanted to say a special thank you to Mr. Efren - what an amazing performer! I had
no idea how talented he is. You absolutely made the evening complete!
We also want to thank Mrs. Kincannon and the Student Council for
donating their time to help us clean up and serve drinks and cookies.
Again, thank you for such a fun and successful evening!
