PLASTIC CONTROL
VERSION: 2 (10/2003) REVIEW: 3 PAGE 1 OF 7
PLASTIC CONTROL
According to the procedure, CONTROL OF HARD PLASTICS, GLASS AND METALS with code CAL
/ 60, the production department is in charge of carrying out the inventory on the production
line of plastic-type supplies or tools on a monthly basis, and the quality department verifies the
status of the tools in a fortnightly period.
1. The quality staff proceeds to inspect each plastic and non-plastic input to mitigate the
risks of detachment of foreign materials. Attached you can see the Control of Glass
and Hard Plastic with code CAL / 60-2, where you can see the immediate corrections
that are taken to prevent contamination by plastics within the process line. In case
that a tool is found in poor condition, it is requested to replace it and the inventory is
updated.
2. If there’s a tool in poor condition or a part has been detached, an analysis is carried
out covering the origin of the finding, proceeding to break off of the production line
until the particle detached from the tool is found. Once the missing plastic piece is
found, it is verified in the Foreign Element Registry with the CAL / 60-1 code. Once the
food that was in contact with the utensil, instrument, or broken equipment has been
identified, the food is labeled as PRODUCT IN QUARANTINE according to what is
established in the CAL / 59 Potentially NOT Innocuous Products procedure.
Additionally, in case that a tool is found in poor condition, it is removed and
terminated immediately. It is recorded in the Glass and Hard Plastic Control section
and in the monthly inventory.
DESCRIPTION: The tools and utensils of the production line are placed in the register and, by
means of a biweekly verification, their status is verified.
DESCRIPTION: when carrying out the biweekly inventory and determine the findings, this
record is filled in to locate the origin of the foreign material and take the respective corrective
actions.
