ABSTRACT

Covid-19 is a type of respiratory tract infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2

virus from the coronavirus family. To prevent the spread and break the
chain of Covid-19. One way that can be done is by using a standard
disinfection method using a liquid disinfectant. Disinfectants are
chemicals that are useful for preventing the growth of bacteria or killing
microorganisms on the surface of inanimate objects. Disinfectant is one
of the liquids that is considered quite effective in killing the corona virus.
In this way the UNNES BMC KKN Team, Semarang State University held a
spraying of disinfectant in Petekeyan Village as an effort to prevent
Covid-19. The method in carrying out this activity is to do permission first
to the village apparatus, conduct online education by sharing tutorials on
making disinfectants properly and correctly and spraying at various
points in public places. This is expected to be able to break the chain of
the spread of Covid-19 in Jepara, especially in Petekeyan Village.

PRELIMINARY

The end of 2019, became a historical momentum with the emergence

of Covid-19 cases that started in China. Covid-19 is a type of respiratory tract
infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus from the large coronavirus family
(WHO, 2020). Symptoms of exposure to this virus are characterized by fever,
cough, shortness of breath, even more severe pneumonia, and acute
respiratory syndrome.

The spread of the Covid-19 virus can be said to be very high, where data
from WHO as of August 2, 2020, this case has attacked 216 countries around the
world with a total of 17,660,523 cases and 680,894 deaths. Based on the
research of several experts, it was found that this virus spreads through
droplets produced by patients when making physical contact or through
particles attached to objects or objects that have been contaminated with the
virus.

Research from China, et.al (2020) states that the corona virus can
survive on fabric and wood surfaces for 1 day, stainless steel and plastic
for 4 days and lasts on the outer surface of medical masks for up to 7 days.
Furthermore, another study from Van, et.al (2020) found that the corona virus
persisted on copper for 4 hours, on cardboard surfaces for 1 day and 3 days on
copper. plastic and stainless steel.

Considering that the corona virus is invisible and able to survive

on various objects, it is necessary to carry out disinfection efforts in
places or public facilities that are widely used by people. This is very
important to do to prevent the spread and break the chain of Covid-19.
One way that can be done is by using a standard disinfection method
using a liquid disinfectant.

Disinfectants are chemicals that are useful for preventing the growth of
bacteria or killing microorganisms on the surface of inanimate objects up to
60% - 90% (Shaffer, 1965). Disinfectant is one of the liquids that is considered
quite effective in killing the corona virus that is on the surface of objects.
This is because the corona virus has an outer lipid envelope that is more fragile
than other viruses, when exposed to a disinfectant liquid (Rutala and Weber,
2019).

Jepara became one of the cities that had experienced a significant

spike in positive cases of Covid-19. Data from corona.jatengprov.go.id as
of August 2, 2020, positive cases in Jepara reached 1,127 cases and
became the district with the second highest Covid case in Central Java.
Several factors have caused this, namely high mobility, an increase in
tests, and the discovery of new clusters of the spread of COVID-19 in
public places (Kompas, 2020).

The absence of an official implementation of PSBB (Large-Scale Social

Restrictions) from the local government, makes the activity of the people of
Jepara still relatively high. Mainly activities in public places such as markets,
mosques, terminals, tourist attractions and so on. Public places that are visited
by many people, of course, can become a new cluster of the spread of Covid-19.
19. So it is necessary to periodically disinfect using a liquid disinfectant.
Therefore, based on this background, the purpose of this service is to
make disinfectant liquid independently and to spray disinfectant at
several points in public places that are often used by the public as an
effort to break the chain of the spread of Covid-19.

METHOD

Time and place

Community service in efforts to prevent Covid-19 which consists of

education on the manufacture of disinfectants independently and
spraying disinfectants in public places. This activity was held on Monday,
July 27, 2020 at the Petekeyan Village Hall, Tahunan District, Jepara
Regency. The spraying locations are targeted at schools, mosques,
meeting buildings, and residents' homes where the process of spraying
disinfectant has never been done.
Tools and materials

The tools used in this activity consist of disinfectant liquids such as: wipol, bayclin,

and clothes deodorizer, personal protective equipment such as: masks, hazmat

suits, gloves, face shields, and boots, as well as disinfectant spray equipment.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

The disinfectant spraying activity is a 2020 UNNES BMC KKN program

which is carried out as a continuation of the education program for making
disinfectants. The purpose of this activity is to reduce new clusters of the
spread of the corona virus which is very susceptible to spreading in public
places.

Education on the manufacture of disinfectant liquids is carried out online

because of the need for social restrictions between communities. The form of
education for making disinfectants is done by making video tutorials for making
good and correct disinfectant liquids. This video tutorial was shared through the
WA Group online on Sunday, June 26, 2020 and received a pretty good response,
where group participants asked several questions regarding how to use
disinfectants and the effect of disinfectant liquid on preventing the corona virus.

Continuation of education on the manufacture of disinfectants, namely

the activity of spraying disinfectants carried out in Petekeyan Village. This
service was carried out in coordination with the Petekeyan Village government
which was carried out on July 20, 2020. The spraying was carried out on July 27,
2020 which was opened with remarks from Mr. ROHMAN
S.Si as the Head of Petekeyan Village. Then, the activity continued with the manufacture of

disinfectant liquid and the installation of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

The process of making disinfectant liquid is to first enter the wipol

and bayclin liquids with a dose of 4 tablespoons of each liquid, then add 4-6
spoons of clothes deodorizer to neutralize the odor from bayclin and wipol.
For per liter is 2 (disinfectant liquid): 1 (Liter Water).
The location of the first spraying of disinfectant was at the Hidayatit
Taqwa Petekeyan Mosque. Some parts of the mosque that became the point of
spraying were on areas that were often touched by the public such as the
ablution area, door handles, and several pillars in the mosque. The response
given by the mosque management was to give permission and welcome this
activity.

The second location was conducted at the NU Nahdlatul Fata Petekeyan

MTs and MA schools. Spraying targets are doors, windows, benches and some
parts of the school that are often used in general. Coinciding with the school's
internal meeting, the response given by the school enthusiastically gave
permission for the implementation of this program,

The third location is in the NU Building, which is a place to recite the Koran

every night. As in the previous location, the point of spraying is also carried out on

various objects that are often used together. The response given by the

administrator has not been obtained considering that at the time of spraying, the

administrator was not present. Only the village government gave a good response

and assisted during the spraying process.

The last location that was targeted for spraying was the house of the residents

of Petekeyan Village, especially on Rt.17/Rw.04. This is done considering that this

location has never been sprayed with disinfectant liquid. Spraying was carried out on the

outside of the residents' houses as well as the furniture that became the place of work.

The response received from the community was good and gave permission for this

program. Even the children of local residents actually accompanied the spraying process.

CONCLUSION

The 2020 BMC UNNES Real Work Lecture Work Program (KKN)
"Spraying Disinfectants in Petekeyan Village as an Effort to Prevent
Covid-19" has been successfully carried out well and smoothly. The
people in Petekeyan Village also felt very helpful with this spraying not
only the community but even the children in the village there. Also
accompanying the process of spraying the disinfectant, this spraying is
not only done in people's homes but is carried out in various places such
as places of worship, schools, village halls and places of community
gatherings. Not only spraying, we also provide tutorials on how to make
Disinfectants online through the WA group because considering the
ongoing Covid-19 virus pandemic so that people can or know how to
make their own disinfectant at home. In the implementation of this
Disinfectant spraying, the Petekeyan Village apparatus is also assisted,
starting from the provision of materials for the manufacture of
Disinfectants, PPE clothes, to transportation so that the Disinfectant
spraying work program runs smoothly without any obstacles.
SUGGESTION

With this Disinfectant Spraying, it is hoped that it will be able to

reduce the spread of the Covid-19 Virus in the Petekeyan Village
Community so that the transmission rate is reduced. Not only that, the
people of Petekeyan Village are also expected to be able to make their
own Disinfectant Liquid. The hope is that this activity can increase public
awareness to implement the Health Protocols and keep their living
environment clean and free from the Covid-19 Virus, because the
Covid-19 virus also sticks to inanimate objects.
