Instructions for Single Rating Tool – Community Ops

Introduction

The Single Review Tool (SRT) is the online based tool you will be using to complete your
daily tasks for this project. Please note that you are not required to download any software
(other than a Google Chrome web browser) – no plugins or add-ons need to be installed.

Technical Requirements

Please use the rating tool ONLY on a Google Chrome web browser and disable ALL your
browser extensions.

• If you do not have Chrome installed on your computer, please visit:

https://www.google.com/chrome/

• If you already have Chrome installed, make sure it’s the most up-to-date version.
Please visit https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95414?hl= en to learn more
about your Chrome version.

• You should not use any other browser to complete your work. While the tool may
load on Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer, your ratings will not be correctly
submitted.

Using the SRT – Rating Posts

1. You MUST claim your SRT account before you can access the tool!
2. Using Chrome ONLY, go to: https://srt.facebook.com/ and login using your
AppenWorkplace email alias (e.g. john.doe@fb.appen.com ).

3. Go to the SRT at https://review.intern.facebook.com/intern/revie w, once log in please

make sure that you are in the “Community Ops” vertical which you can check in the
top left-hand corner of the page.

4. Click on “Home” and filter for your team – (this will be provided in the email “Getting
Started”.

5. Once you have located your queue, click on the ‘Just go button.

This will take you to the labeling page.

6. Begin labeling the posts as instructed in the guidelines. It is very important you label in
reference to the definitions outlined for each type. Use the skip option only if the
post does not load or any tool error that prevents from seeing the content.

Using the SRT – Other Instructions

 Dumping Assigned Jobs

Make sure that you dump the assigned jobs whenever you take breaks or finish
work for the day. This allows the jobs that have not been reviewed to be made
available for other raters to work on. To do this, click on the ‘Dump and Exit’ button
located on the bottom of the rating page.

 Skipping Posts

Some of the posts might show up as blank because of privacy blocks. You can skip
these posts that display in the rating tool as blank. Click on the ‘Skip’ button to skip this
post.

• If you see a very large number of blank posts, please stop working on the queue
and let the support team know.

• Skipped posts are closely monitored by both Appen and the client to ensure this
feature is not abused.

 Logging Out of the Tool/Browser

Make sure to log off completely out of the SRT rating tool and to completely close your
browser window anytime you wish to take a break from rating work or have completed

your rating tasks for the day. This is a critical step to ensure that your data is tracked
correctly in the tool. To log out of SRT, go to https://srt.facebook.co m/ and click on the
gear button then select ‘Log Out’.
