Good afternoon, Salam and Namashkar to all dignitaries & guests with

great joy and immense exultation. I, Dr. Subhra Prakash Datta,


Additional Director, IQAC, USTC feel privileged to extend my warm
welcome to all present here at the Academic & Research Collaboration
MOU signing ceremony between University of Science and Technology
Chittagong and Premier University Chattogram.

Before commencing, let me introduce you, our eminent guests today.


We are very much delighted to have, Prof Dr. Anupam Sen Sir, VC Of
premier university, Prof. Eng. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam Sir, honorable
VC , USTC, Mr. Borhanul Hasan Chy Sir, honorable Member, BoT
Premiere University, Mr. Ahmed Iftekharul Islam Sir, Honorable
Chairman BoT USTC is with us virtually as he is abroad at the moment.
We also have Professor Dr. Shafiul Hasan Sir, Member, BoT USTC, Dr.
Sheikh Mehsheed Noor, Honorable member, GoB, IAHS, Professor
A.K.M. Tafzal Hoque, Treasurer, Premier University, Chattogram, Dr.
Md. Kamrul Hassan, Treasurer, USTC, Khorshedur Rahman,
Registrar, Premier University and Mr. Dilip Barua, Registrar, USTC, Print
and Media journalists from the reputed News papers and TV media of
Bangladesh.

In this auspicious moment I would like to remember with utmost


honor, the Visionaries and founders of USTC and Premiere University,
Two of the Brightest sons of Chittagong. National Professor Dr. Nurul
Islam sir , the personal physician of the father of the nation
Bangabandhu sheikh Mujibur Rahman, And The peoples Leader,  ABM
Mohiuddin Chowdhury, the beloved mayor of our Chittagong and a
renowned freedom fighter in our Glorious liberation war
We are grateful to both of them for their unique initiatives to establish
these Private Universities in Chittagong with a vision to create a
knowledge-based society in 21st Century.

The University of Science and Technology Chittagong


(USTC) established in 1991 as the first Private University of Bangladesh
soon before the Private University Act came into force in 1992. The
primary objectives of establishing USTC are to improve the quality and
standard of education in science and technology with special emphasis
on medical, pharmaceutical, engineering and social sciences. It also
aims at developing human resources at home and aboard with special
emphasis on the South and South-East Asia. USTC has been playing an
active and exemplary role in providing high-quality medical,
pharmaceutical, business, engineering and technological
education and equipping students with the expertise to address both
local and global challenges. The University has achieved remarkable
success and continues to foster its future with dynamic initiatives with
modern curriculum, research activities, student engagement,
professional training, faculty development, international collaborations,
a multi-cultural campus, and university-industry collaboration
towards Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Now I would like to welcome honorable vice Chancellor of USTC,


Professor Eng Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam sir for his inaugural speech.

Thank you Sir for your wonderfully relevant speech.

Premier University at Chittagong, Bangladesh, has been established at


the beginning of the millennium in the year 2002.Though not very old,
it has gained renown as one of the best universities in Bangladesh. In
our knowledge-based era, Premier University is contributing immensely
to the socio-economic development process in Bangladesh through its
quality teaching and research. It has six faculties: Arts, Business Studies,
Engineering, Science, Law and Social Science. These faculties have been
producing brilliant professionals and academics who are adding both
quantitatively & qualitatively great values to the larger society.

It is my privilege and honor to request Prof Dr Anupam Sen sir,


Honorable VC, Premier University to grace the platform

Thank you very much Sir for your valuable piece of speech.

In academia practicing togetherness, being in collaboration, is the key


to success. The purpose of universities is well served as long as we, the
universities, continue sharing our knowledge and opportunities with
each other.

Now I would like to request Mr. Ahmed Iftekharul Islam sir, Honorable
Chairman, BoT, USTC to say few words. He will deliver his speech
virtually through Zoom.

Thank you very much sir, for your encouraging and resourceful speech
on the relevant topic

Collaborative research has become more prevalent globally over the


past 50 years and researchers are increasingly required to work across
disciplines, institutions and borders.  This cooperation can bring distinct
expertise to a project. And also benefit the research by different ways
like 1. Maximizing outputs 2. Maximizing impact 3. Attract fund 4.
Expand network and finally 5. Embrace the new skills.

Now I am very much delighted to welcome educationist Mr. Borhanul


Hasan Chowdhury sir, Honorable Member, BoT, P U for a few words
regarding the initiative of Collaboration between Two Universities.

Now I am requesting Professor Dr. Shafiul Hasan Sir, Member, BoT
USTC for a brief speech.

Now I am inviting Dr. Sheikh Mehshid Noor. Honorable Member,


Governing Body of IAHS for her speech virtually.

Now to the MoU signing.

place beside their respective Vice Chancellor.

We may make this moment memorable by claps.

I am also requesting the honorable Treasures from both the universities


to sign in the MoU document.

The future of work it’s an exciting frontier where, more than ever,
innovation and collaboration will be keys to success. And it’s coming to
an enterprise near you at breakneck speed. In this fast-changing world,
speed, agility, and creativity drive competitive advantage. To succeed,
teams need better ways to meet, share ideas and information, and get
things done fast. That requires technology change, to expand the
boundaries of human potential. And it also demands the right culture,
to attract and retain top talent.

Knowledge, Skill, Attitude, Collaboration, Scholarly Faculty Exchange


and expansion and sharing of real Knowledge, production of Creative
Enlightened and Humane society to lead Bangladesh towards a
developed one.
We hope that, the promise of collaboration we perceived from today’s
program of MoU signing will be implemented by both the universities
to walk jointly in the path of Quality Education, Excellence and Success.

It’s been an honor to be among such accomplished individuals and to


be able to listen to their perspective. Thank you very much for your
kind presence and patience.
