Quiz no. 1:

What I remember about my adolescence?

Talking about adolescence especially on our younger years is an important time of life
where we are experiencing the changes from the childhood years into adulthood. It gives us
knowledge on how we deal developmental changes.

As for what I have remembered, my adolescence is kind of unified both the pleasure and
despair. Not everything is set in to place. There were times where my happiness turns into sorrow,
from sweat to tears. Why? Because I’ve met different kinds of people who are the one that needs
me to teach things that will change my perception in the future. From my relatives to my teachers,
sisters to my cousins, and to my mother and father as well whom I deal in every days of my years.
They have different approaches, recognitions and are special in our hearts.

During my thirteen years, I remember when my sister and I are washing our clothes
together. As we sat under the tree and immediately, I discovered that my shorts has red marks on
the center and I was curious on how did it show though I already know during that time that I am
on the years where I will experience bleeding period. Therefore, I tell my mother about it and I was
a bit excited to wear napkins during that time. It was so funny. After how many years of dealing
with it, I realized that it is very difficult to have periods because it is a battle of embarrassment and
sensibility when you are in public places. Moreover, I get used to it because it is a responsibility to
take care of myself. As the time goes on, I remember the time where I am romantically in love and
had a crush on somebody but still it is just temporary feelings.

I can see those years where I am dealing my parents in every decisions I make. There were
times of contradictions and misunderstanding. I remember when I have to lie to my mother on
buying the things I like. Instead, I told her that I am going to buy requirements on my project. I was
a bit hesitant on taking the money since I lied to her. I continue to lie for my greater benefits. I
realized it is not good though it still sound good to my sense. Then, I caught because of my sisters’
disquisition to my mother. I hate her.

Now, every time I look back adolescence is a period of life with specific health and
developmental needs and rights to our own. It is also a time to develop knowledge and skills, learn
to manage emotions and relationships, and acquire attributes and abilities that will be important
for enjoying our adolescent years and adult roles. After all, there many things to be remembered
and it will be kept to our hearts and save as our reference in life as lifelong learnings. Whenever I
came back, I can still see different pieces that makes me who I am now.
