2.0 INTRODUCTION

By using 3D simulator of a classic screw-cutting lathe machine mod 1K62. This

application also simulates its performance to normal ordinary operation in interactive
mode. In addition, ability this simulation model includes external and facing rotation,
drilling and boring operations. In the full version of theapplication, more than 70
cutting tools are available for work holes, twisting grooves, cutting external and
internal threads.
The field application of software products is an educational process that uses
computer technology. For example students can apply when students are in the lab.
Such as labs in computer classes, distance learning, demonstration support lecture
material in the group of areas of training and specialties in Metallurgy, Engineering
and Material Processing.
Type of target computing device and supported platform: IBM – compatible PC
running Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh PC running MacOS, mobile devices
based on Android and iOS operating systems. Additionally, program execution is
possible in a web browser environment with support for HTML5 technology and
hardware support for 3D graphics(WebGL technology)
Get various support from platforms that allow you to use the software on
various computing devices, including interactive whiteboards, smartphones, tablets
and desktop computers, which,in turn, increase the flexibility and mobility of the
educational process, in accordance with modern level of educational information.
The graphical user interface is made in Russian and English. Metric and inch
measurement systems are supported. The required amount of video memory of the
device is 350 MB. The graphical system of the application uses the components of
OpenGL 3.0.
The spindle speed is the rotational frequency of the spindle of the machine,
measured in revolutions per minute (RPM). The preferred speed is determined
based on the material being cut. Cutting speed (KP) unequal with spindle speed or
revolution per minute (RPM). To calculate RPM, diameter (d) and cutting speed work
piece need to be known.
Formula used is
RPM = (KP x100)/πd
 RPM is the rotational speed of the cutter or work piece
 KPis cutting speed
 Diameter of workpiece can in mm or inches
 π Is the constant pi (3.142)

3.0 LIST OF TOOLS /EQUIPMENT

 Laptop/ pc/ smartphone

 Software 1K62 Lathe Machine Simulator
4.0 SAFETY REGULATION

• Always wear approved safety glasses

• Rollup sleeves, remove tie and tuck in loose clothing
• Never operate machine if safety guards removed
• Stop lathe before measure work or clean, oil or adjust machine
• Always remove chuck key after use
• Always remove chips with brush

5.0 PROCEDURES
 the provide application according to your device (windows, macos, linux,
android OS or iOS apple apps) installed
 user manual downloaded
Link: http://www.virtlabs.tech/apps/shareware/1k62_manual_en.pdf
 video tutorial preparation process1K62 Lathe Machine Simulator watched and
understood
 the workpiece is provided by clicking the workpiece parameter control panel
and entering a value length = 100mm, diameter = 40mm and offset = 60mm.
 the lathe tool is selected by clicking the lathe tool control panel and select the
lathe tool. the lathe tool to the box is clicked and dragged

Workpiece measurement is measured by clicking on the caliper image. It has

the ability to measure the length and diameter at any point of the contour by
moving the letters L and D.

 the spindle speed to 630 rpm is set

 the machining process to make the workpiece is started by following the

pictures provided.
 by using the appropriate tool points the process is continued with the
processes below
i) facing process
ii) turning process
iii) grooving and chamfering process
iv) threading process

6.0 DISCUSSION

Lathe Machine is a Production Machine tool. The Lathe Machine is an ancient

tool. At the very early stage this machine was developed around 1300 BC at that
time there was not developed so many parts expect headstock and Tailstock. But
during the industrial revolution Metalworking lathe evolved into heavier machines
with thicker, more rigid parts.

There are several components of a lathe, this discuss the most important Parts
of Lathe with their function. It is also known as the father of all standard machine
tools
 Headstock
 Bed
 Tailstock
 Carriage
 Saddle
 Cross-slide
 Compound rest
 Toolpost
 Apron
 Lead Screw
 Feed rod
 Chuck
 Main spindle
 Leg
nowadays students can use the lathe on a laptop or pc by downloading this
software. the name of the software we use is "1k62 simulation lathe machine".
various facilities and tools such as real lathes while in the polytechnic workshop.
Examples of processes in the application "1k62 simulation lathe machine" are
cutting, sanding, knurling, drilling, deformation, facing, and turning, with tools that are
applied to the workpiece to create an object with symmetry about that axis
Example of display in the application "1k62 simulation lathe machine"
Upon complete of this project, students will be able to:
• Identify the most important parts of a Lathe and its functions.
• Students are also able to Understand Lathe safety rules. can feel the preparation
for machining even using "1k62 simulation lathe machine"
• proficient in assembling workpieces on lathes.
• how to identify suitable cutting tools for lathe work

7.0 CONCLUSION
In conclusion "1k62 simulation lathe machine" simulates the actual scene operation
of a lathe machine just like in a workshop.students get a deep feeling when using it.It
is the type of simulation machine that most people see only in most workshops
inside or outside the polytechnic.

The simulation we use is also like a real 1: 1 machine. It means as small a part as a
large part can all be used by students. But the difficulty of controlling using the
mouse while running is a challenge, this is because "1k62 simulation lathe machine"
is not like other applications. This application if wrong then the error cannot be
undone.

This diagram shows the scale display in the application

But if using the keyboard shortcut it is easier and the scale can be controlled if you
want to use small or large scale movements.
