1 Introduction
This manual describes the recovery process if system start fails.
NOTICE!
To be able to recover video data make sure that the configuration file is saved (see Software
Installation Manual, Chapter 4.15, Configure Options).

2 Recovering the System

2.1 Calling Up the Recovery Process

1. Restart the system, and then as soon as the Bosch logo is displayed, press DELETE to
start BIOS.
2. In BIOS, select the Boot menu, then select Hard Disk Drives. Press ENTER to view the
drives.
3. Select the DOM drive (4M-ATP Veloci) and move it up to the first position.
4. Press F10, then press ENTER. The system restarts from DOM.
5. The System Management Utility window with the following options is displayed.
– Initial factory setup: Deletes all drives, all recorded data and installs the initial
setup (see Section 2.2 Installing Initial Factory Setup, page 3).
– Restore to factory default: Deletes only the partition C: and installs the factory
default image (see Section 2.3 Restoring to Factory Default Image, page 3).
– Console: Displays the Command Prompt window (for maintenance).
– Wipe disk: Deletes all disks (for maintenance).
– Show volumes and physical disks: Displays the partition data.
– Reboot: Restarts the system.

2.2 Installing Initial Factory Setup

1. In the System Management Utility window, click Initial factory setup, then click Yes.
2. Select your device, then click Continue to load the image from the DOM. This takes about
8 minutes.
3. When the setup is finished, click Reboot to restart the system, and then as soon as the
Bosch logo is displayed, press DELETE to start BIOS.
4. In BIOS, select the Boot menu, then select Hard Disk Drives. Press ENTER to view the
drives.
5. Select the DOM drive (4M-ATP Veloci) and move it down to the last position.
6. Press F10, then press ENTER. The system restart behavior is the same as for the first
system start. After the restart the Set up Windows screen is displayed where you can
select the language.

2.3 Restoring to Factory Default Image

1. In the System Management Utility window, click Restore to factory default image, then
click Yes to load the image from the DOM. This takes about 8 minutes.
2. When the setup is finished, click Reboot to restart the system, and then as soon as the
Bosch logo is displayed, press DELETE to start BIOS.
3. In BIOS, select the Boot menu, then select Hard Disk Drives. Press ENTER to view the
drives.
4. Select the DOM drive (4M-ATP Veloci) and move it down to the last position.

5. Press F10, then press ENTER. The system restart behavior is the same as for the first
