Mayor Nas C. Ona

Calaca Municipality

Dear Mayor,

Good Day!

We, the students of Batangas State University are proud to support our community by building a small project that will
benefit the citizens of Barangay Quisumbing as a part of our Civic Welfare Training Service. We invite you to support
your local community by making a donation. We depend on the generosity of the surrounding community to provide
the best opportunities for our people.

The donation will be spent wisely by making a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) of Barangay Quisumbing. The said
project was solely for the waste segregation problems the community are experiencing. Materials recovery facilities
(MRFs) will be established in Barangay Quisumbing to recover recyclable materials and make a place where people
can put their garbage in the right place and not on the coast to burn or rivers to be stuck. Our purpose is to prevent
people from discarding their trash inappropriately and to help the environment and the locals.

Only with your help can we continue to provide the level of support our people need and deserve. For your kind
gesture, we will recognize you on our project. Thank you for considering a donation to this very worthy cause. For
questions or further information, please contact us at 09265665104

Sincerely,

Richel Bondoc

IX. Rationale of the project

Implementing ecological waste management in communities was a hard task, it takes a lot of work and time
from people causing them to neglect these responsibilities, and afterwards it will become the source of major
environmental damage that will affect us. By practicing activities such as segregation of different types of solid waste,
the community will contribute a help to the municipality.

A Material Recovery Facility was planned to build for the residents of Barangay Quisumbing in the town of
Calaca at Batangas to prevent the inappropriate discarding of garbage. Over half of the population of the barangay are
living at the coast, their way of discarding waste was to burn it or throw it beside the rivers, the municipality have a
system where there are scheduled day for the garbage truck to collect, in order to have an organized way to redeem the
waste from the communities, (RRR) will apply in making a Material Recovery facility.

The goal is to have a clean and safe environment, prevent the residents from disposing their waste in the sea,
river, side walks or even by burning.

XV. Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanics

The Material Recovery Facility will assume a significant function in lessening the waste stream, the
interest for crude materials, and contamination related with the assembling of new items. The directing of the
undertaking will require checking and seeing by me (advocate) and barangay authorities who will help in
execution and direction of the venture. The office will be checked and monitor until the task was done and will
utilize the picked up cash from reused materials for different purposes. The trash gathered and isolated will be
figured out and reused. At that point, the materials which can be sold and use again will be assembled all.

XVI. Plans of Ensuring the Sustainability of the Project

To guarantee the supportability and efficiency of the venture, each member should consider that directing this
undertaking should be persistent with full help from everybody. This will be not just a venture made separately
by me (defender), yet with the occupants and authorities, so I'm anticipating the participation of the entire
network to make it all conceivable and fruitful. A task made with fellowship will clearly be prosperous and
utilitarian for the advancement of the whole network and the target will be satisfied establishing a protected
and clean climate.

 Enough budget to finance the said project;

 Securing the durability of the Material Recovery Facility;
 Giving enough information for the residents;
 Ensuring that they will use it as they follow the directions
