Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan

English III

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify the two types of clauses.
b. construct sentences with two types of clauses.
c. sustain the good and positive interaction in virtual discussion.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


a. Topic: Forms and Functions of Clauses
b. Reference: Grade 9 book and internet

c. Materials: Soft Copy of the topic, laptop/any gadgets, pen and paper
d. Value Integrated:Self Work, and Discipline

III. PROCEDURE
A. Daily Routine
a. Prayer
b. greeting the class
c. checking of attendance
d. checking and passing the assignments

B. Motivation
a. Give them a certain sentence wether it is dependent and independent
clause and let them identify what is supposedly is.
b. Paste the sentences on the wall and every correct answer, 3 points each.

C. Presentation
The teacher asks the students on what they think the similarities of the two
different clauses.

D. Lesson Proper
The teacher discusses Forms and function of Clauses
(Main/Independent Clause- it can stand by itself as a complete
independently. It can be
written by it self as complete sentence. It can stand alone, be added to
another independent clause, or go together with a dependent clause.
Example:That girl teaches sign language.
Mudslides will engulf these hillside homes, and some will be
ruined.
Brianna asked to be excused from class because she is sick.
Subordinate or Independent Clause-even though it has a subject and a
verb, it does not
express a complete thought. It must be added to at least one independent
clause if it is not
to express its meaning.)
Example: The girl to whom I will introduced you teaches sign language.
Unless the rain stops soon, mudslide will engulf these hillside
homes.

E. Application
A. The teacher introduce a very short story "TO BE BRAVE AND
STRONG".
The teacher provide a worksheet with a copy of the story and instruct
them to look for independent and dependent clause then fill it on the
table on the worksheet attached.

B. Construct a new sentence using dependent and independent clause.

F. Generalization
The teacher will ask one student who can state the jeez of the discussed topic
for the day.

V. EVALUATION
Compose a short paragraph. "On your opinion of the story TO BE BRAVE AND
STRONG. Incorporate at least 5 independent clause and 5 dependent clause from
the story.

Browse on the internet and search for the types of Subordinate Clause (10
points)
B. Advance reading on KINDS OF SENTENCES
