CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of The Paper

The covid-19 Pandemic has affected educational systems around the

world, leading to the closure of schools, universities and colleges.

Long closing of schools and self-sustaining quarantine at home, may have

a negative impact on physical and mental health (branzendale et al., 2017).
Youngminds research (2020) has nearly 83% of young people suggesting that the
pandemic is exacerbating existing mental health. This is because of school
closures and limited social connection

The effects of the covid-19 pandemic are felt by students, including

students, especially senior semester students. Government-imposed social
restrictions (PSBB) has been a problem during research. Thesis was one of the
requirements to earn a degree (wahid 2011). Based on the above background,
research has been carried out entitled "The Covid-19 Pandemic Impact On
Education."

1.2. Problem formulation

Based on background, then the problem that could be formulated is as

follows:
What is the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on Education?

1.3 Purpose of the paper

Based on the problem formula, as for the purpose of this study, it is to know
the impact of the covid-19 pandemic in education.
1.4 Benefit of research

1. For researches : researchers it is hoped to provide learning experience at

the covid-19 pandemic, which will be used for self-evaluation and enhance the
quality of learning during the covid-19 pandemic.

2. For students : of this study it is expected to provide learning experience

at covid-19 pandemic and provide knowledge and motivation during the covid-19
pandemic.
CHAPTER II
DISCUSSION

2.1 Covid-19 Deskription

The coronavirus or if the acute symptoms of coronavirus 2 (sars-cov-2) is

a virus that attacks the respiratory system. It's a covid-19 infection disease. The
corona virus can cause a mild respiratory ailment, a heavy lung infection, to death.
"If the acute acute syndrome of coronavirus 2 (sars-cov-2) better known as
the coronavirus is a new breed of coronavirus that is contagious to humans. It can
affect anyone, such as the elderly (the elderly), adults, children, and infants,
including pregnant mothers and nursing mothers. A corona virus infection called
covid-19 (corona virus 2019) and was first discovered in the city of wuhan, China
in late December 2019. The virus spreads rapidly and has spread to almost all
countries, including Indonesia, in just a few months. It makes some countries
adopt a policy to impose lockdown in order to prevent the spread of the corona
virus. In Indonesia itself, there is a large-scale social restrictive policy (PSBB) to
suppress the spread of the virus.

2.2 Covid-19 contagion alert

Coronavirus is a cluster of viruses that can infect respiratory systems. In

many cases it causes only mild respiratory infections, such as colds. However, it
can also cause severe respiratory infections, such as pneumonia. The virus is
transmitted by a droplet from the airway, such as when in a crowded enclosed
space with poor air circulation or direct contact with droplet.
locked by noisy air circulation or direct contact with droplet. Apart from
the sars-cov-2 virus or corona virus, the virus included in this group is the virus
that causes acute acute syndrome (SARS) and middle-east painful syndrome
(mers). Although caused by avirus from the same group as coronavirus, covid-19
differs from SARS and mers in some ways in terms of the prevalence and severity
of the symptoms.
Corona Virus Mortality rate (covid-19)

Corona (covid-19) virus mortality that causes covid-19 to attack anyone.

According to data released by the covid-19 task force, the number of positive
confirmation cases up to March 25, 2021 was 1,476,452 people with the death toll
of 39,983 people. Covid-19 mortality rate is about 2.7%. Judging from the
percentage of the mortality rate that is divided by the age group, 46-59 - year -
olds have a higher percentage of the death rate than others. Whereas according to
gender, 57.1 percent of those who die from covid-19 are male and 42.9% are
female.

Symptoms Of The Corona Virus ( COVID-19 )

Early symptoms of corona or covid-19 viral infections can be similar to

those of a cold, cold, dry cough, sore throat, and headache. Afterward, symptoms
can either disappear and heal or even give a cleaning. Those with severe
symptoms may develop high fever, cough and even blood, shortness of breath,
and chest pain. The symptoms appear when the body reacts against the corona
virus. In general, there are three common symptoms that could indicate someone
was infected with the corona virus, which is:

1. Fever (body temperature above 38 degrees Celsius)

2. Cough

3. Asphyxiation

may include other symptoms that can also appear in corona virus infections even
though it is less common:

1. Diarrhea

2. Headache

3. Conjunctivitis

4. Taste loss of ability

5. Loss of ability to smell (anosmia)

6. Skin rash

These symptoms of covid-19 typically appear within 2 days to 2 weeks

after exposure to the corona virus. Some patients infected with the corona virus
can experience oxygen loss without any symptoms. The condition is called
hypoxia.

2.3 The Covid-19 Impact On Education

The covid-19 pandemic has transformed the world of education from the
learning process, which is usually carried out in a classroom with a face-to-face,
but since the pandemic took place it is moved to online learning. Here are the
positive and negative effects covid-19 have on education.

1. Positive effects

A). Are fuelled to accelerate education.

B). Many comes the online learning.

C). Collaboration with parents and teacher.

D). Application of science in the family.

economy.

C). Students are less sociable

D). Without school, the child is a potential victim of undetectable domestic

violence

CHAPTER III
CONCLUTION

3.1 Conclution

Based on the above description, the writer can therefore draw conclusions
about the effect the covid-19 pandemic has on education. The covid-19 pandemic
has affected educational systems around the world, leading to the closure of
schools, universities and colleges.

Long term shutdown of the school and self-contained quarantine of course have
an impact on physical and mental health. The effects of the covid-19 pandemic
were felt by students, including students. The large-scale social restrictions
imposed by governments became one of the obstacles during study and research.

3.2 Suggest

Based on the study of the effects of the covid-19 pandemic against education,
there is a suggestion that a writer should make to some people:

1. Teacher

Teachers must have a clear preparation of the material that will be used as the
study material for the students. Teachers must take note of the condition and
circumstances of the learner's family environment in order to avoid undesirable,
such as violence. Then the teacher must be active in communicating with the
parent in order to always accompany the child who is studying.

2. Parents
As a parent, it needs to be active and open about the child's development during
home study. Parents have to be with children, and parents have to understand each
child's character.
