Procedure

WHY HONDA?

Prior to working on this report, we had to think of a company to write the report on. We wanted
to write the report on a prominent company that could be distinguished from the other companies
based on their respective fields. We, as a group, decided that we will be writing the report on
Honda and we will be considering only the Safety and Prevention department of Honda. The
reason that we chose this specific department was that Honda is well-known for its safety
standards. Its safety standards are so enhanced and well-planned that it is usually distinguished
from the other automobile manufacturers when it comes to customer safety. Thus, we wanted to
know how Honda manages all this, and started our research immediately.

READING ARTICLES TO KNOW HONDA SAFETY STANDARDS:

Our plan was to, first, read articles related to Honda’s safety standards and then come up with
questions based on the information that we would gather. We read numerous different articles
and decided to include only the most essential and relevant ones in our report. We also explored
Honda’s website to research about their vision regarding customer’s safety, various safety
standards, driver-assistance AI systems etc. We also read the company’s safety rules and
regulations that is present at their website.

All kinds of information related to how Honda plans, leads, organizes, and controls its safety
standards is according to the articles we read.

PREPARING QUESTIONS FOR THE INTERVIEW:

After reading these articles, it was time to come up with different questions of the safety
standards that would cover all of the four functions of management.

We prepared questions based on the following reasons/aspects:


 If there were some certain aspects that were not clear to us even after reading articles on
it, then we included those aspects in our questions so that we could get the company’s
insight on it.
 We decided to consider some features to be a major part of our report such as the
different AI systems that assist the drivers and also the different campaigns and
innovations that Honda has launched to promote its safety standards so, make questions
related to these measures.
 Aside from coming up with questions about the positive side of Honda, we also came up
with questions for any negative situation that was faced by Honda. We were not
concerned with what the actual stressful situation was, but how Honda dealt with it.

INTERVIEW:

Furthermore, we then asked these questions from some Honda safety representatives. We not
only limited ourselves to Honda cars but also explored the motorbikes’ safety aspects of Honda;
a representative from the safety department who works for Honda bikes answered a couple of
our questions. It was evident that Honda is well-known for its safety regulations and
performance but we wanted to know how exactly does it perform all these tasks? Therefore, the
questions that we asked at Honda weren’t related to Honda’s present condition but were about
how Honda manages every single aspect of it.

Thus, all articles reading and taking interview helped us to evaluate Honda’s planning, leading,
organizing and controlling of safety standards.
