1. Ministry of Commerce: 2. Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) :

 Ministry of Commerce is responsible for
regulation and implementation of policies
applicable to domestic and foreign trade.
 The main objective of the Ministry of
Commerce is to make the economic activities
of Bangladesh dynamic and export oriented to
respond to the rapidly changing competitive
world trading system.
 Facilitating the access of Bangladeshi products
to foreign markets through multilateral,
regional and bilateral trade negotiations and
agreements.
 Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) is a government
agency of Bangladesh under the ministry of
commerce. It was established in 1978.
 It is responsible for developing and promoting the
nation's export industry.
 Role of EPB includes proposing policy and
selection, assistance and advice to exporters,
marketing mission and buyer-seller
conference, training to the exporters,
participation in international trade fair,
maintaining trade information centers, export
promotion.

3. Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and
Exporters Association (BGMEA):
 BGMEA is one of the largest trade associations
in the country representing the readymade
garments industry.
 The fundamental objective of BGMEA is to
establish a healthy business environment for a
close and mutually beneficial relationship
between the manufacturers, exporters and
importers in the process ensuring a steady
growth in the foreign exchange earnings of the
country.
 BGMEA brings the opportunities for local
manufacturers to interact with foreign buyers
and form new rapport by arranging different
apparel fairs at home and abroad.
4. Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of
Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) :
 FBCCI is the apex trade organization of
Bangladesh playing a pivotal role in consultative
and advisory capacity, safeguarding the interest of
the private sector in the country
 It helps and stimulates investment and
development of trade, commerce, industry,
agriculture, tourism, human resources and
communication sectors in Bangladesh.
 It organizes training, seminars and workshops on
trade, commerce and industry and co-operates in
settlement of trade disputes through conciliation,
negotiation and arbitration.
 It maintains close relations with overseas national
chambers of commerce and other trade and
industrial associations.

2. Bangladesh Trade Portal
 The Bangladesh Trade Portal (BTP) is an official
source of all regulatory information relevant to
traders who wish to import goods into Bangladesh
or export to other countries.
 The Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh
Government has established the Portal in order to
improve the predictability and transparency of the
country’s trading laws and processes.
 The Portal is also a one-stop point for information
relating to export from and import into

3. Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers &
Exporters Association ( BKMEA) :
 BKMEA is the apex trade body to represent solely the
knitwear sector of Bangladesh.
 BKMEA has started its journey in 1996 by the all out
efforts of few knitwear manufacturers. BKMEA was
formed as a trade association to facilitate and promote
knitwear business.
 The objectives of BKMEA include to promote &
expand the global Market share for Knitwear
manufactures of Bangladesh, to support for the
sustainable development the Knitwear sector, to raise
Awareness on basic rights and business principles
among the worker and Entrepreneurs of Knitwear
Sector, to introduce international standards in Knitwear
sector of Bangladesh, to formulate sector friendly
Policy in consultation with the Government of
Bangladesh.
4. Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB):
 Bangladesh Accreditation Board is an
autonomous government agency responsible
for providing accreditations to laboratories,
testing centres, and certification bodies
Bangladesh.
 BAB is the statutory body established in 2006
as an autonomous organization responsible for
upgrading the quality assurance infrastructure
and conformity assessment procedures in
Bangladesh and enhancing the recognition and
acceptance of products and services in
international, regional and domestic markets.
 It arranges training programs, seminar-
symposium, proficiency testing. It ensures
harmonization of Standards & requirements
and exchange of information.
