Requisites
Art Appreciation is a three-unit course that develops students' ability to appreciate, analyze, and critique works of art. Through interdisciplinary and multimodal approaches,
this course equips students with a broad knowledge of the practical, historical, philosophical, and social relevance of the arts in order to hone students' ability to articulate their
Course Description understanding of the arts. The course also develops students' competency in researching and curating art as well as conceptualizing, mounting, and evaluating art
productions. The course aims to develop students' genuine appreciation for Philippine arts by providing them opportunities to explore the diversity and richness and their
rootedness in Filipino culture.

The course policies should include instead the ff:

Policy for Quizzes and other forms of assessment:


Students should first complete the lecture and activity before taking the quiz.
Students will only be allowed to access the quiz on the date and time set by the professor.
The score of the students will be coming from the accumulated score of the first attempt;
Students who will not be able to take the quiz on the date and time set can still access the quiz, but the scores will not be recorded.
Students who will not be able to take the quiz should communicate with the instructor.
All sorts of cheating are strictly prohibited.

Policy for Online Passing of Assignments/ Projects:


Students should pass the assignments/projects on the specific date and time set by the professor. Late submissions will no longer be accepted and recorded.
Assignments/ projects that will be passed thru emails should have the ff format: On the section allotted for subject, students should follow this format:

While on the names of the attachments that will be used, students should follow this format:

Policy for Participation in Online Discussions:


1. Students should participate to the conversations; a shared learning environment will be effective if everyone involved actually shares.
2. You may have more experience with online discussion forums than the person next to you. Give them a hand. Show them it’s not so hard. They’re really going to appreciate it!
3. Read everything in the discussion thread before replying. This will help you avoid repeating something someone else has already contributed. Acknowledge the points made with which you
agree and suggest alternatives for those with which you don’t.
4. Be direct. Stay on point. Don’t lose yourself, or your readers, in overly wordy sentences or paragraphs.
5. Use Proper Writing Style: This is a must. Write as if you were writing a term paper. Correct spelling, grammatical construction and sentence structure are expected in every other writing
activity associated with scholarship and academic engagement. Online discussions are no different.
6. Cite Your Sources: If your contribution to the conversation includes the intellectual property (authored material) of others, e.g., books, newspaper, magazine, or journal articles—online or in
print—they must be given proper attribution.
7. Refrain from using linguistic shortcuts that are not part of the academic dialogue. Please refrain from :-) faces and c u l8r’s.
8. Respect Diversity: It’s an ethnically rich and diverse, multi-cultural world in which we live. Use no language that is—or that could be construed to be—offensive toward others.
9. No YELLING! Step carefully. Beware the electronic footprint you leave behind. Using bold upper-case letters is bad form, like stomping around and yelling at somebody (NOT TO
MENTION BEING HARD ON THE EYE).
10. No Flaming! Criticism must be constructive, well-meaning, and well-articulated. Please, no tantrums. Rants directed at any other contributor are simply unacceptable and will not be
tolerated. The academic environment expects higher order language.
11. Lastly, Remember: You Can't Un-Ring the Bell. Language is your only tool in an online environment. Be mindful. How others perceive you will be largely—as always—up to you. Once
you've hit the send button, you've rung the bell.

Policy for Accessing the LMS


1. Students should access the course at least 3 times a week for MWF class and 2 times a week for TTH class or 3 hours a week.
2. Students must maintain an air of decorum when creating personal profiles. This includes profile pictures and display names. Students may not create profiles containing demeaning or
derogatory language nor images deemed as vulgar or otherwise offensive.

Course Policies:
Honesty is the rule during examination. Cheating is not allowed at all times. It will merit a grade of zero (0).
Any complaints regarding teaching, grades, etc. against the teacher or classmates related to the course should be properly addressed to the professor.
