Carlos Basco, I’m here in front of you to talk about supporting our
owned local products.

Let’s face the reality that we always support the imported products
more than local products. We all know that one of the reasons of this
common issue, some are after the quality of product but most of them
are after the name and what’s the trend as of today’s generation. As a
years passed by, the willingness of some people to support or purchase
their own product slowly decreased. Purchasing or patronizing our own
product or local product is a simple way of showing the love and support
for our country. So why do we need to support import product than to
our local product? “For being on trend or something fame?” Let’s just
open our eyes that we need to support our own because it’s symbolizing
our culture, and it is one way to show the love and support to our
country.

So why do we need to support the local products? Simply because

we are Filipinos. According to NegosyoCentral.com “let us not forget
ourselves. Literally let’s not forget who we are” because like what I’ve
said local products remember our culture and it’s identity us Filipinos.
According to visitkhysna.com, buying local has both far reaching benefits
for community and the environment, because when locally owned
business create community that are more prosperous, more strongly
connected, it helps for reaching the benefit for the community and
serves to strengthen it’s economic base. Supporting local product is
good for the environment because they often have a smaller carbon foot
print than larger companies. Local business are more accountable to
their communities, they care about and are invested in the well being of
your community and it’s future. (mass.gov blog 2013)

In my conclusion, we need to support our locally owned product,

because it has a lot benefits to our community and country. And it helps
our culture to reintroduce to all youth Filipinos. Don’t forget who we are
before we love the product or culture of other country, we think first
what we have in our own. The most important thing is it showing the
love for our country.
