Nurse : “Good morning, are you Mr. Tendi families?”

Mrs.Tendi : “Yes Nurse Good Morning, I’am his wife .”
Nurse : “Okay Mrs Tendi, I'm Keke as a nurse on duty today so can I speak to you?”
Mrs.Tendi : “Yes Nurse, Ican.”
Nurse : “Thanks for your time, here I will ask your permission to install the
ventilator to Mr Tendi and here the informed consent that you can assign.”
Mrs.Tendi : “Okay, nurse, I will sign the informed consent. But beforethat, May I ask
why my husband has to be put on a ventilator?”
Nurse : “It is because your husband ill. Haven’t the doctor tell you about his ill?”
Mrs.Tendi : “Previously the doctor had told me about the disease, It’s called sepsis. But I
am not understand about the disease. Can you explain about it?”
Nurse : “So sepsis is condition when the bacteria sperated in a blood vessels
throughout the body with an under very severe condition and it can cause one of the organ
failures which is pulmonary failure.”
Mrs.Tendi : “Oh I can conclude that sepsis can cause pulmonary failure. Can it give a bad
impact on my husband's condition, Nurse?”
Nurse : “As a doctor said that the prognosis of sepsis or pulmonary failure is
different on it’s person and Mr Tendi is good.”
Mrs.Tendi : “Oh my God, I'm glad to hear that, Thank you, Nurse. Are there any other
signs and symptoms of sepsis Nurse? My husband has a high fever and flushed skin.”
Nurse : “Alright, so sepsis had a many symptoms. One of the symstoms is fever.
Which is above 38°C, because the body temperature is too high so the skin will appear
reddish patches. patient who has previous medical history will get bad prognosis like
pulmonary infection and organ failure. So that an effective methods can help that patient
breath ventilator. Mr Tendi Lungs are slightly disturbed and he can't still breath spontan, its
mean that the ventilator role is to help the lungs not work too hard, when the lungs are
adequate we will take the ventilator off because it's not good to use ventilator when the
patient is able to breath spontaneously and adequate.”
Mrs.Tendi : “Yes, Nurse, then how do I get rid of reddish patches on my husband's skin,
Nurse? and what causes my husband's temperature to be high? sorry I don't really
understand.”
Nurse : “Don't worry Mrs Tendi, nurses and the doctor here will give the best to cure
your husband. High temperatur occurs as a body response when against the bacteria, doctor
will give antibiotics to decrease the bacteria and when the bacteria are reduced successfully
the temperature will back to normal.”
Mrs.Tendi : “Thank you very much Nurse, I want my husband to get better soon and be
able to do his daily activities like before. Then, judging from my husband's condition, is there
any possibility that my husband can recover completely and regain Nurse? I'm a little
worried.”
Nurse : “We will do our best, but as you know all is the hand of God and hopefully,
with the right treatment and care mr Tendi Will be alright.”
Mrs.Tendi : “OK nurse, yesterday my husband had a blood sample taken. Before, I wasn't
clear about the purpose of the blood sampling?”
Nurse : “Ok I'll explain about it, so the purpose of the procedures is to find out what
types of bacteria cause sepsis so it can be consideration to decide what kind of antibiotics
will give to him.”
Mrs.Tendi : “Is there any therapy or medication other than antibiotics that can treat
sepsis?”
Nurse : “Yes, there are supportive therapy to restore and maintain the hemodynamic
system so that vital organ perfusion can be saved, inotropic and vasopressor drugs and
resuscitation of crystalloid fluids will also be given.”
Mrs.Tendi : “Ok Nurse, thank you very much for the information. I hope my husband
gets well soon because I love him so much.”
Nurse : “I cannot fully understand how you feel. It must be very hard to bear. But
you must remember that we will do all we can to help her and you. Mr Tendi needs you, and
you have us all to help care for him and listen to you if you need to talk. It is okay to be sad
and even to cry, but you must be strong for him. I’m here and I will help you any way I can.”
Mrs. Tendi : “Thank you for your care and concern for me and my husband.”
Nurse : “My pleasure.”
Mrs Tendi : “Can I talk to you again if I need to?”
Nurse : “Anytime. I’ll be on the nurse station if you need me.”
