NARRATIVE REPORT

As a continuation of the In-Service Training of the teachers of Benito R. Villar Memorial School,
the said educators led by the school principal held its third of the Inset at the BRVMS Gymnasium. The
said workshop began at exactly 8:00 in the morning. It started with the Management of Learning led by
the Kinder and Spet teachers. A short review of the previous topics was also done before the day’s topic
was discussed.

The first speaker was Mrs. Maureen Eva O. Ical. Her topics were the Facts and Details of Action
Research and Generating Topics for Research. Hearing the word Research made the educators more
interested and attentive during the discussion. Aside from elaborating the different parts of an Action
Research, the speaker also gave activities that tested the knowledge of the participants. And along the
discussion, the queries of the teachers were answered. There was also some sharing of Madam Mary
Jane Ortega since she already accomplished her Action Research about Differentiated Instructions and it
even passed until the Division/ Region Level. Some tips were also given by the speakers on how to make
our Action Research correctly. All of her topics were clear and the listeners learned so much about her
topic.

Next discussant was Mrs. Sheila Marie Panganiban. Her topic was about the research methods;
Causal-Comparative Research and Correlational Research. Those topics were a bit difficult for it involves
Statistics and Variables. It was said that the Causal Comparative studies the cause and effect relationship
of the predictor variable and the criterion variable. While the Correlational Research studies the nature
of relationship of variables. Right after the discussion, an oral quiz was given by the speaker.

The first half of the topics about Research ended at exactly 11:45 in the morning. An open forum
followed.

At exactly 1:00 in the afternoon, the third speaker began her topics. She tackled the how to Write an
Action and its Different Parts. Each part was carefully discussed and given examples. A lot of questions
have been asked during the discussion and each was answered by the speaker, Mrs. Analyn Atienza.
Those topics were really hard and challenging to discuss and understand. Right after that, she gave the
participants their output to be submitted.

Indeed, this was a very challenging day for us because we will be trying to make an Action Research
soon.
