Narrative Report of Day 1 INSET


“Those people who develop the ability to continuously acquire new and better forms of
knowledge that they can apply to their work and their lives will be the movers of and shakers
in our society for the indefinite future”
The afternoon session of Mid-Year INSET Day 1 started with the Mode of Learning
facilitated by Mrs. Realiza S. Fuentes, Teacher III and the grade level leader of Grade 8, to
set the mood and prepare the participants for a wisdom-filled afternoon. The teachers enjoyed
this activity because they are able to dance and work their afternoon out.
The first topic was the school coordinators’ update and accomplishment reports by learning
area coordinators. This updated and informed us about the updates, achievements and
accomplishments by area. The first to present was Ms. Beverly B. Manocan , Teacher III,
School DRRM Coordinator and Brigada Eskwela Coordinator. She updated us about the
recent activities of DRRM. She also shared that the school catered 50 evacuees families last
January 2023 due to the flash floods caused by heavy rains.
On the other hand, she discussed about the Psychosocial support that the teachers conducted
for the learners which gave way for our students to open-up about the problems that they
have encountered during the pandemic. This allowed the teachers to tap and motivate the
learners to strive more and be positive in life for they are not alone.
Second coordinator to present is Ms. Ritchell Ann T. Mangilaya, Teacher II and Journalism
Coordinator. She stated that the school bagged the awards for the recently concluded District
Journalism Contest. These accomplishments proved that the teachers and the school worked
really hard to prepare the students for these kinds of events.
Mr. Cesar S. Baladjay, JHS Teacher III and District Mathematics Coordinator, updated us
that they have conducted E-RUNT and provided a challenging results which made their
supervisor to conduct a remediation entitled Project Archimedes which provided a ready
made video lessons about their topics in Mathematics. These videos really helped the student
cope-up with their lags in learning Mathematics.
Mrs. Julie Ann Palmani, JHS Teacher III, School English Coordinator, discussed about the
updates in English. She updated that the English Department conducted PHIL-IRI Group
Screening Test provided a challenging result. The SDO Aklan English Department conducted
reading remediation to address this gap and to help our learners read and comprehend.
The next to present is Mr. Julius Dela Cruz, SHS Teacher I and the School ICT Coordinators.
He discussed about the current activities in Microsoft 0365 and how to transfer downloaded
files from Google Drive to Microsoft 036 account. He also reiterated about the beauty and
benefit for the teachers.
Next to present was Mrs. Zenith Cornelio, JHS Teacher III and District Science Coordinator.
She gave updates about the contest and seminars participated by science teachers and their
awards bagged from these activities.
Lastly Mrs. Realiza S. Fuentes, JHS Teacher III and the School Araling Panlipunan
Coordinator updated us about the project PAARAG which aims to present the traditional
culture through the display of important documents, memorabilia, information and remnants
of the material and non-material culture of the Filipinos with focus on the local History-
Aklan culture.
Day 1 indeed is a very well organized and well prepared activity which provided teachers a
very informative afternoon. The information and knowledge that we have acquired will
surely be of important value for us and we will preserved this for us and for our learners.
