✞ Hymn - When Morning Gilds the Skies
When morning gilds the skies, My heart awaking cries:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Alike at work and prayer To Jesus I repair:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find:

May Jesus Christ be praised!
Or fades my earthly bliss? My comfort still is this:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Let earth's wide circle round In joyful notes resound:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let air and sea and sky From depth to height reply:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Be this, while life is mine, My canticle divine:

May Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this th’eternal song Through all the ages long:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

A Bidding Prayer and Silent Prayers of Confession Call to

Leader: Let us pray to Christ and proclaim his supremacy. Confession:
Hebrews 4:14-16
People: Son of Man you are the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn over all creation. For in you all things were
created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible.

Leader: Nothing we create can displace Christ. No

government can cast him out, for they exist within his
creation. No discovery can reveal anything that Christ did
not create. No achievement or success can accomplish more
than Christ’s redemptive work on our behalf.

People: Jesus, you are the beginning and the firstborn from
among the dead, so that in everything you might have the
supremacy. For God was pleased through you to reconcile
to himself all things, making peace through your blood,
shed on the cross.

Leader: We confess to you our pride, our naked greed, our

self-deception, our poverty of principles and possessions. In
humility, Jesus, we accept from you peace we are incapable
of procuring, redemption beyond our means to purchase,
and rescue from darkness of our own making.

People: Help us to let go of anything which strives to take

your place. Make of us a body that serves, be our Head to Affirmation of
guide and inspire. Let us continue in faith, established and Grace:
firm, unmoved from the hope held out in the gospel. Ephesians 2:4-5

Message | Questioning the Christ of Christianity

(Colossians 1:15-20) - Pastor Malcolm Davis
✞ Hymn - Because He Lives
God sent His son, they called Him Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Refrain:
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living, Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,

And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!
Refrain

And then one day, I'll cross the river,

I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!
Refrain
