Currently, our program is taking thesis writing as part of our curriculum. Thesis writing is
more than just a requirement. It is a way to showcase what you have learned over your program
of study, and may even add to the body of research in your specialization. Many people would
say that thesis writing is the hardest and most challenging part of college life - I have to agree,
but I am confident that the end result will be rewarding and fulfilling.

We have decided to understand and look into the lived experiences of Home Bakers of La
Union during this Pandemic in comparison to the lived experiences of Commercial Bakers. This
seeks to answer the question how the extent of this pandemic affected the lives of this bakers and
how they cope with the effects of the pandemic.

I have always known that God has set a plan for me already for which it would help me
fulfill my purpose. As Jeremiah 29:11 states, God says, “for I know the plans I have for you,
declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

This bible verse became my favorite and guiding words to encourage me to strive harder
and finish my education. During this difficult time, we are confronted with lots of challenges,
especially in our education. But I always take comfort in knowing that it is not a promise to
immediately rescue us from hardship or suffering, but rather a promise that God has a plan for
our lives and regardless of our current situation, He can work through it to prosper us and give us
hope.

As a Louisian researcher, we must always embody the core values of the institution to be
guided in fulfilling our and His plans.Excellence must be coupled with integrity and honesty
especially when writing a thesis, I must be diligent enough not to encroach the intellectual
property rights of others. I must also carry the value of Christ-centeredness by remembering the
very reason why I am writing this thesis - to provide solutions of problems and become
missionary by extending these solutions to those who are suffering and in need.
I’ve been told that the road to success does not include the path of rainbows and cakes. It
is more of a rough, challenging road that will test you and make you a better person. With God is
mercy (or pity), with man is action (or work, or labor). God has set a plan for me, but that
doesn’t mean I will rely on His plan alone. Life requires action. A slack hand causes poverty, but
the hand of the diligent makes rich. With these, I was able to continue studying for God has
provided me means to earn while doing the thing I love and currently specialize in - baking.

God has always been a great provider. What we need to do is to look for these and use
these to make life easier and better. His will be done through our actions for which we shall
prosper only if we do things right and we do the right thing.

As we come near graduation, we must prepare ourselves for the realities of the
professional world. Academic learning must not only be processed by our brains, but also with
our hearts to have enough compassion to serve others with utmost integrity.
