1. Onboarding
If you are completely new to StudyStream click on the “new to StudyStream?
Come here” section, which will give you an introduction to the platform.

2. Joining a focus room


Step 1 - Focus rooms are zoom rooms where the study sessions with other
students are held. To enter a focus room, click the “Enter Focus Rooms” button
on the homepage or click on the “Focus Room” tab in the Navigation.

Step 2 - In the focus room page, you will see rooms for “pre-university students” and
for “university students and young professionals”. Click on any of these rooms in the
category that you are in to join a study session. If you are new to StudyStream you
can click on “New to StudyStream? Come here!” for an introduction.

Step 3 - Before being taken to the focus room you will see a prompt explaining that
audio is disabled in the zoom rooms in order to provide the best co-working
experience. Click on “Take me to the Focus Rooms” to continue to the study session.

Step 4 - You will then see a pop up with the StudyStream Community Guidelines.
Read them over to understand the rules and click “Agree” to join the study
session.

Please note: You need to be signed in to your zoom account to enter the focus room.

Once in the zoom room, audio and chat are disabled in order to create the best and
safest study environment. You can choose to have your video on or off depending on
your preference.

Renaming
If you would like to remain anonymous or change your zoom display name,
click on participants.

Then hover over your name and click on “more”, you’ll see a menu pop up with
option to rename yourself.

Enter your new name and click “Rename”

Raised Hand
Some users choose to raise their hand to pin their video to the front of the
focus room, this helps others find them more easily and keep track of their
video.

Nap room

In addition to focus rooms, there is a nap room where students can come to take a
nap together. This room is used for sleeping only and you can choose to have your
video on or off.

3. Mindfulness
StudyStream also offers weekly mindfulness sessions with an expert teacher to
guide students through a meditation. You can learn more about the details of what
mindfulness is and what a typical session look like by navigating to the mindfulness
tab on the website: https://www.studystream.live/mindfulness

4. Reporting an Incident
If you notice any inappropriate behaviour in the focus rooms, you can report it in
the “Report an Incident” section on the focus room page. Alternatively, you can also
email reporting@studystream.live to report the incident.
