Health products 1. These are substances, materials, or equipment prepared or manufactured for
purchase and use in the maintenance of health and the treatment of diseases.
Health services 2. These are health actions, procedures or work furnished, or supplied to help
satisfy the needs and wants of a consumer.
Health professionals 3. They are experts who provide preventive, curative, promotional, or
rehabilitative health care services to people, families, institutions, or communities.
Health information 4. These are ideas that you hear from people around you, read from books
and other printed materials, or from the media that influence your health.
Health facilities 5. These are places that provide health care. They include hospitals, clinics,
outpatient care centers, and specialized care centers.
V. Application / Assignment
Your local government has observed an increasing consumerism in its population. They are
caught up in needless buying and spending on health products that are aggressively promoted
by companies to sell their products and services. As a health worker, you are tasked by the
municipal health supervisor to come up with a 3-fold brochure to better guide the consumers in
the wise selection and utilization of health products and services. The brochure should be
informative, interesting, and easy to understand.
