 As an underrated quote goes, "As an only child, you have your own little
world" and independence grows within you. Growing up as an only child, I embodied
the spirit of self-reliance. I befriended my experiences and learned from them.
Having a rough childhood molded me to stick with my priorities and aspire for a
better life. I am someone that prioritizes education because it equips me with dignity
and knowledge that I can possess in this lifetime. When I was in high school, I joined
contests such as quiz bees and became a part of campus journalism for 6
consecutive years. Spiritually speaking, my religion and the Lord are my biggest
support system. They become my coping mechanism whenever life gets tough.
I have this great ambition to share everything I know in this society particularly
what youth needs to know. More than the influence, I want to use my platform as a
future educator to wake minds about relevant societal issues and let them have their
own stand about it. Studying to get my bachelor's degree is undeniably tough, but
whenever I think of my purpose and my calling to be a teacher, it fuels my burning
passion to strive harder. The current education status of our country that is filled with
issues like Quality and Affordability of Education pushes me to stand firm with my
hope that someday, every Filipino can enjoy their rights to Quality Education.
As a student of Bulacan State University-Meneses Campus, I want to apply
for the position of Associate Editor of Dambana Publication. My purpose to become
an Associate Editor is to disseminate proper and right news for everyone. Meneses
Campus deserves quality and fair news, and as an Associate Editor, it is my role to
assist or work with the rest of Dambana's Editorial Board. My experience in campus
journalism is, in my opinion, enough to attain the position. I have always dreamed of
being part of the Editorial Board since then. More than my endeavors, my service for
the publication is the one that matters. Management of the articles and posting of
publication materials are few things that I can contribute to Dambana's sustainable
growth. My role as an Associate Editor can be extended to organizing the social
media page, scheduling, and establishing greater integrity for the publication.
This publication already benefited me when I was a contributor during the
Academic Year 2020-2021. Joining Dambana helped me to grasp with discovering
new things I can excel, particularly in editing publication materials. College is tough,
however, the connections this publication gave me became my support system
during my freshman year and I can't wait to meet more people that share the same
interests as me. As an aspiring English Educator, my experience here can be my

reference as a Journalism Adviser in the future. It can be my edge in the academe
and involvement as a pro-active student. In the name of public service, I strive and
guarantee it will always be so. Putting myself here is making my college life
worthwhile.
