LESSON PLAN in MATHEMATICS 8

A/Y 2018-2019

January 31, 2019

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson at least 75% of the student should be able to:
 describe rational functions;
 determine when the asymptote of rational function will be horizontal or
vertical; and
 represent rational functions in tables, graphs, and expressions.

 Prayer
 Greetings
 Checking the cleanliness of the classroom
 Checking of attendance
 Review of the past lesson

Function is a relation between a set of inputs and a set of permissible

outputs with the property that each input is related to exactly one
output. The output of a function f corresponding to an input x is
denoted by f(x) (read “f of x”).
2. Developmental Activities

 Motivation
The class will be divided into 5 groups, each group will be having same task and
that is to find the mystery word.

Direction: find the zeros of each function and write the corresponding letter on the blank
provided below.

1. f ( x )=x 2 +2 x−15 7. f ( x )=x 2 +4 x−45

2. f ( x )=x 2−49 8. f ( x )=x 2−14 x + 40
3. f ( x )=( 2 x−1 ) ( x−5 ) 9. f ( x )=x 2−5 x−14
4. f ( x )=( 2 x +1 )( x +1 ) ( x−1) 10. f ( x )=x 2 +9 x−36
5. f ( x )=x 2−2 x−15 11. f ( x )=x 2 +11 x−26
6. f ( x )=x 2 +4 x−32
