Purpose: To make student analyze the changes happening in dynamic marketing environment
and evaluate their implications on marketers.

Assignment Work: Select any one product/ brand of a company as assigned by the course
instructor. Student need to search for information related to the selected product/ brand.
Using authentic sources to identify some current news related to industry/company and as far
as possible related to the specific product/brand chosen and analyze the happenings keeping
in mind the following dimensions:

Student need to analyze the following aspects related to selected product/brand.


• Which marketing orientation is primarily been followed by the organization? Analysis
to support the marketing orientation must be presented.
• Do the environmental analysis of the product/organisation and identify the two most
important environmental factors affecting your selected product/brand.
• Identify the biggest competitor associated to the category of your selected product/
brand. What do you feel is the future of this competition?
• For the given product/brand, identify primary value addition activities performed by
the organization in creating the value at each stage starting from receipt of raw
material to delivery to end customer.
• Details such as introduction about the product, its’ features, firms’ offering this
product to the segment of customers, market share, market size, potential
market size, market growth rate, factors affecting the sales of the product etc.
are also to be discussed and can be included in the report.

Evaluation parameters:-
1. Analysis of market orientation of organization - 5 marks
2. Environmental Analysis of organization - 10 marks
3. Competition Analysis - 5 marks
4. Identification of value addition activities - 10 marks

Course Instructor will assign product / brand to individual students.

• Assignment should be of minimum 10 pages in the world document.
• At the maximum of 20% plagiarism is allowed. Simply copying of the details from any
source would result in awarding of zero.
