Assignment 1
Motorbikes are a popular form of transportation among both young and old people. Motorbikes
are not only a necessity in this densely crowded, congested metropolis, but they are also a source
of fascination and a luxury item for many individuals. There are many different types of
motorcycles, making it tough to pick one above the others.
Regular motorcycles, racing motorcycles, and cruiser motorcycles are the three types of
motorcycles. We may have a variety of needs and preferences for features, and they may not all
be met by a single bike. So, when it comes to purchasing a motorcycle, the 9-step engineering
Economic Decision-Making framework may be used to make informed decisions while
maintaining within our budget.

1. Recognize the Problem

I'm a student who attends university at least five days a week. I occasionally pay visits to friends
and relatives, as well as a number of other places. When I take public transportation, I spend at
least 2 hours every day stuck in traffic. I can save time by hiring a bike for transportation, but it
is quite expensive. I have been facing difficulties to travel locations elsewhere in Dhaka since I
do not have a personal vehicle.
2. Define the goal or objective in solving the problem
Hiring a vehicle is not a viable option for me to save time. And it's not even possible to rent a
bike everywhere. My objective is to purchase a motorcycle in order to save time and money and
to get flexibility of my movement.
3. Assemble relevant data –
When it comes to purchasing a motorcycle, there are a few things to consider. Before
purchasing a motorcycle, the CC, as well as the mileage, acceleration rate, maximum speed,
torque, exhaust sound, and design of the motorbike, are all significant considerations. With all of
these specifications, the bike's pricing should be within our 300000BDT budget.
4. Identify feasible alternatives
Considering all the features of the motorbike I have chosen few motorbikes within my range.
1. Regal Raptor Daytona 125
2. KEEWAY SUPERLIGHT 150
3. Suzuki Intruder FI ABS
5. Select the criterion to determine the best alternative
A handful of fundamental standards must be considered. Keeping these considerations in mind,
we should choose best option. The following are the requirements we're looking for.
CC: I always like the motorbike with greater CC for example 150cc
Mileage: I prefer optimum milage which is 35km to 40 km per liter.
Acceleration rate: The more acceleration rate enables a bike to perform in more volatile
situation
Maximum speed: Although the maximum speed doesn’t have anything to do in Bangladeshi road
as it is difficult to reach high speed in city traffic.
Torque: This enables a motorbike to perform well in turning or in uphill. More torque is
preferable.
Exhaust sound: The motorcyclist, as well as other nearby traffic, is disturbed by a very loud
exhaust sound. So moderate sound is preferable.
Design of the motorbike: Design of the motorbike is one of the key factors of choosing a model.
A good looking decent colored bike is preferable which has also comfortable seats.

6. Construct a model
As a result, we've narrowed it down to three motorbikes, which we'll transform into the final
configuration.
7. Predict each alternative’s outcomes or consequences
All three models have comfortable seating arrangement and very good outer looking. Regal
Raptor Daytona 125 has lower cc than the other two so the mileage. KEEWAY
SUPERLIGHT 150 and Suzuki Intruder FI ABS the greater maximum speed and torque.
The exhaust sound of Suzuki Intruder FI ABS is less than the other two whereas the Regal
Raptor Daytona 125 has manly exhaust sound.
The Suzuki Intruder FI ABS has more torque than the other two. AS the motorcycle would be
utilized on city roads rather than uphill, lesser torque will not be an issue.
All these three motorbikes are within the budget.

8. Choose the best alternative

All three bikes have comparable characteristics, but when all the facts and fuel efficiency are
taken into account, the Raptor Daytona 125 is the better choice.
9. Audit the result
It is essential to consider the difference between the prediction and the eventual outcome.
However, I have been riding this motorcycle for the last year. So far, the performance of this
motorbike has been consistent with the forecast. Despite the fact that it is far too early to make
such a statement. We'll be able to construct the actual outcome after a few more years of riding
this motorcycle.
