Job Purpose
To assume delegated responsibility for the day to day running of the house, ensuring all policies and
procedures are complied with and the highest standards of student care are achieved.

Key Tasks General

• Providing ongoing & effective household management and support for a busy family with 4 children
• Complete responsibility for a 10,000 sq.ft. home.
• Manage of 15 domestic staff members, multiple vendors, ground keepers and other additional service
providers.
• Handle communication with schools, schedule extracurricular and age appropriate activities for
children
• Plan and execute entertainment and special events.
• Oversee household budget, scheduling house maintenance, pet care, grocery shopping, laundry, meal
prep, light housekeeping, maintaining a plan or schedule for the family’s personal and professional needs,
bookkeeping, and any other service that falls within your abilities
• Plan and coordinate events, handle bills, and once you have gained appropriate experience, supervise
other staff members.
• Understand and implement House Objectives, as directed by House Manager
• To lead the staff team in the absence of the House Manager to promote and ensure positive and
supportive relationships for students.
• Understanding and working with the House manager in all areas of Care Standards
• To assume delegated responsibility for record keeping and administration procedures for student and
other matters within organizational guidelines.
• Attending meetings as directed by House Manager.
• To ensure appropriate channels of communication are kept open to all departments, and particularly up
to Service Manager, in the absence of House Manager.
• Ensuring the house is kept to a high standard of cleanliness, considering all aspects of health and safety
in the process
• Providing written reports as directed by the House Manager in a timely manner to the appropriate
department.
• Participating in training to promote own personal and professional development

Staff Management

Under the direction and in the absence of the House Manager


• To support, advise and direct Care Staff on all matters relating to their duties
• Ensuring the daily Rota maintains safe staffing levels within the house
• To give guidance and support in all aspects of the keyworker system and to monitor same
• To undertake regular supervisions and appraisals to elected members of the staff team.
• Assessing student need against staff skill bases, and discuss / organize appropriate training

Skills & knowledge
