INTRODUCTION

omponent layout inside The 994H operator’s station has been updated and is very similar to the 993K
operator’s station operator’s station. Operator comfort has been improved with a new heated seat and
automatic temperature controls.

The Cat Monitoring System Display (4) replaces the dash indicators, the four-gauge
cluster module, and the speedometer/tachometer module. The Cat Monitoring
System Display is similar to those being used in many of the medium size wheel
loaders and track-type tractors.

The implement pod (5) includes touch pad switches and soft detents for ease of
operation.

The 994H is equipped with the VIMS™ 3G and Advisor as the main monitoring
system. The VIMS 3G monitors various Machine and Engine ECMs and delivers
the machine status data to the Advisor panel (6) and/or the Cat Monitoring System
Display.

instrument cluster and front dash panel:

• Hydraulic oil temp gauge (2)

• Coolant temp gauge (3)
• Tachometer (4)
• Fuel level gauge (5)
• Torque converter oil temperature gauge (6)
• Parking brake control (7)
• Alert indicator (8)
• Lighter/12 VDC supply (9)

Several indicator lights are located below the gauges. These illuminate when various

• STIC steer lever The 994H is a STIC steer machine. The STIC lever (1) at the left armrest combines
steering, speed, and direction control. Pushing the yellow buttons (2) upshifts or
downshifts the transmission. Tilting the lever left or right steers the machine.
Forward, neutral, and reverse are controlled by a yellow toggle switch (3) located at
the front of the STIC lever.

The steering and transmission lock lever (4) is located to the left of the STIC console.
Moving the lever forward and right unlocks the STIC steering and transmission
controls. A console adjustment knob located inside the left armrest moves the STIC
lever console forward or backward for operator comfort.
