Hydraulic Lockout Control (1)


The lever for the hydraulic lockout control is located at the left side of the left console.

Locked ­ Move the travel


levers/pedals and move the joysticks
to the HOLD (center) position.
Move the lever for the hydraulic
lockout control backward to the
LOCKED position. All of the
factory installed hydraulic controls
will become inoperable.

Note: Make sure that the lever for the hydraulic lockout control is in the LOCKED position before attempting to
start the engine. If the lever is in the UNLOCKED position, the engine start switch will not function.

Unlocked ­ Move the lever for the


hydraulic lockout control forward to
the UNLOCKED position. All of the
factory installed hydraulic controls
will become operable.

Joystick Controls (2)


The joystick controls are used to control certain functions of the machine and work tools. For more information
on the individual functions of the joysticks, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Joystick Controls".

Travel Controls (3)


The travel controls are used to control the movement of the machine. For more information on how to drive the
machine using the travel controls, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Travel Control".

Thread Grease Pedal (If Equipped) (4)


If equipped, the thread grease pedal activates the grease system. When necessary, push the pedal in order to
apply grease to drill rod threads. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Drill Rod Steel ­ Add/Remove"
for more information.

Service Port (5)

The service port is located in the cab and is used by technicians. For additional information contact your Cat
dealer.

Monitor (6)
The monitor is used in order to display various operating information of the machine. For more information on
the operation of the monitor, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System".

Engine Start Switch (7)

NOTICE
The engine start switch must be in the ON position and the engine must
be running in order to maintain electrical functions and hydraulic
functions. This procedure must be followed in order to prevent serious
machine damage.

OFF ­ Insert the engine start switch key only


while the start switch is in the OFF position.
Remove the engine start switch key only
while the engine start switch is in the OFF
position. Turn the engine start switch to the
OFF position before you attempt to restart
the engine. Turn the engine start switch to
the OFF position in order to stop the engine.

ON ­ To activate the electrical


circuits in the cab, turn the key
clockwise to the ON position.

START ­ In order to start the


engine, turn the key clockwise to the
START position. After the engine
starts, release the key. The key will
return to the ON position.

Note: If the engine fails to start, return the engine start switch key to the OFF position. Return the key to the
start position before you attempt to start the engine again.

Travel/Drill Switch (8)

The travel/drill switch is used with the joystick controls to control certain functions of the machine. The center
position of the switch is neutral and disables both travel and drill modes. Press the switch left to enable travel
mode. Press the switch right to enable drill mode. For more information, refer to Operation and Maintenance
Manual, "Joystick Controls"

Operators Seat (9)


The operator seat and the console have various adjustments in order to meet a wide range of operators. For more
information, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Seat".

Feed Pressure Dial (11)


The feed pressure dial is used to control the amount of force applied to the drill bit.

Turn the feed pressure dial counter clockwise in order to increase the amount of force applied to the drill bit.

Turn the feed pressure dial clockwise in order to decrease the amount of force applied to the drill bit.

Engine Speed (12)


Engine Speed ­ This machine has two
engine speeds. Press the button once to go
into high idle and press again to go to low
idle. The accompanying LED illuminates
when the high idle is selected.

Note: The machine will not go into low idle when the compressor is operating. The LED will not turn on when
the air compressor is on.

Work Lights (13)


Work Lights ­ Press this button in order to turn
the work lights ON. Whenever you push the
button, you change the pattern of the work
lights. The indicator lights above the button
indicate the pattern of the work lights.

Window Wipers (14)

NOTICE
If the wiper does not operate with the switch in the ON position, turn
the switch off immediately. Check the cause. If the switch remains on,
motor failure can result.

6 Second Delay ­ When the window wiper switch is depressed one time, the left indicator light will turn on. The
window wiper will operate intermittently at six second intervals.

3 Second Delay ­ When the window wiper switch is depressed two times, the middle indicator light will turn on.
The window wiper will operate intermittently at three second intervals.

Continuous Operation ­ When the window wiper switch is depressed three times, the right indicator light will
turn on. The window wiper will operate continuously.

OFF ­ When the window wiper switch is depressed four times, the indicator lights will turn off. The window
wiper stops.

Window Washers (15)

NOTICE
If the washer is used continuously for more than 20 seconds or used
when no washer solution comes out, motor failure can result.

Window Washer ­ Push the switch


in order to activate the window
washer. While the switch is
depressed, the indicator light will
come on and washer fluid will spray
from the nozzle. The window wiper
will also operate while the switch is
depressed. After the switch is
released for approximately 3
seconds, the window wiper will stop.

Dust Collector (16)


Dust Collector ­ Press this button in order to
activate the dust collector system. Press the
button again in order to increase the air
suction rate. Press the button again for the
maximum air suction rate. The LED lights
will illuminate, indicating the air suction
rate.

Press the button a fourth time to turn off the dust collector system. For more information, refer to Operation and
Maintenance Manual, "Dust Collector".

Note: The air system must be on in order to enable the dust collector. See this Operation and Maintenance
Manual, "Joystick Controls" for additional information.

Smart Drill (17)


Smart Drill ­ Press this button in order to
enable the smart drill function. Press the button
again in order to disable the smart drill function.

When enabled, the smart drill function senses rotation and air pressure changes and automatically adjusts feed
force, rotation, and hammer output.

The smart drill function minimizes the following conditions:

Drill Bit Obstruction ­ If the drill bit becomes obstructed, the smart drill function increases the air pressure,
disables the hammer, and reverses the feed direction.

Drill Rod Jam ­ If the drill bit becomes obstructed, the smart drill function increases the air pressure, disables
the hammer, and reverses the feed direction.

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System" for additional information.

Warm­Up Mode (18)


Warm­Up Mode ­ Press this button in order
to enable the warm­up mode. Press the
button again in order to disable the warm­up
mode.

For more information refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine and Machine Warm­Up".

Air Conditioning and Heating Control (20)


The switch for the air conditioning and heating control is located on the right console.

The heater/air conditioner provides comfort for the operator that is working under various temperature
conditions. For more information on the air conditioning and heater controls, refer to Operation and
Maintenance Manual, "Air Conditioning and Heating Control".

Radio (21)
This machine may be equipped with a radio. For more information, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual,
"Radio".

12V Power Supply (22)


This machine has two 12V electrical outlet receptacles. This outlet supplies power for auxiliary uses. Remove
the cap before you use the outlet.

Water Spray Valve (23)


The water spray valve is located on the lower right side control panel near the base of the seat.

This valve is used to control the flow of the water spray system.

Turn the valve counter clockwise to increase the water flow.

Turn the valve clockwise to decrease the water flow.

The numbers on the valve indicate the rate of water flow. The higher the number the greater the water flow.
