Children have certain emotional needs that have to be catered for if they have to gain emotional
stability. It can be noted that children brought up in a home devoid of love and care most times
grow up with unwanted characters in the society. Structural functionalism, in sociology and other
social sciences, a school of thought according to which each of the institutions, relationships,
roles, and norms that together constitute a society serves a purpose, and each is indispensable
for the continued existence of the others and of society as a whole. In structural functionalism,
social change is regarded as an adaptive response to some tension within the social system.
The purpose of this study is to identify what is love: relationship between mother and child. This
paper wants to determine the answers to the following questions 1. What is love regarding
relationship between mother and child 2. How will you describe love towards your children 3.
how do they execute love. A secure attachment with parents helps promote a child’s cognitive,
emotional and social development, it also helps kids exhibit positive social behavior.
Often, despite a parent's best efforts, parent/child relational problems arise. These problems
may start when a child is young or develop as a child gets older and enters different stages of
development. For example, a teenager may show a lack of respect for her parents as she
begins to become more self-absorbed and depend more on her friends than her family. Children
who do not respect their parents often show their lack of respect by failing to obey their parents
or showing a disregard for their emotions and feelings. This lack of respect may transfer to a
child's self-respect, causing him to make bad choices. It may also transfer to how a child

The researchers choose their respondents of this study will consist of 4 mothers. The first
respondent is 52 years – old, she is a good housewife and lovable mother. The second
respondent is 56 years – old, she is loquacious but lovable wife and mother. The third

“ Wear a smile ”
The best way to foster a positive relationship with parents is simple: smile! But do so genuinely
— don’t wear a smile to appease your students or their parents, or to hide your true feelings.
When you greet parents in the morning, exchange niceties and be mindful of your expression.
When parents see you as someone who is cheerful and happy to see them and their child,
they’ll be more likely to want to develop a positive relationship with you. Turn that frown upside
down, and see how much of an impact it makes!
“Show gratitude”
Some of the most impactful words you can say to a parent are “thank you.” For as much as you
do for their child in the classroom, parents do tenfold at home and on the weekends.
“Listen to them”
Nothing is more frustrating to a parent than a teacher that presumes to know more about their
child than they do. Your teaching career has likely given you ample experience in dealing with
children from all walks of life, but parents know their kids best
