1. Course Aims
The course is designed to provide EFL students with the necessary speaking skills and strategies to be
used in an academic setting. The students are encouraged to think critically and then discuss, debate, or
present on the 8 thought-provoking
provoking topics. They are also equipped with a variety of functional language
to communicate in English.

2. Course Description
The course is focusing on developing students’ speaking skills in terms of both notional and functional
categories. Students are required to perform a variety of activities to practice their speaking skills,
ranging from taking notes, preparing, discussing, to presenting or debating the topic to a group of
people.
