ACTIVITY 4

[no]

Hi! I am   , from and I’m grateful to share with you of what I’ve learned this first 4 weeks of
our school year 2021 to 2022 in Introduction in Philosophy to the World

I feel quite excited about this subject because it feels like it pushes me to become a better version of
myself. Many of the philosophical lessons can be applied in virtually any endeavor. This is both because
philosophy touches so many subjects and, especially, because many of its methods can be used in any
field. The study of philosophy enhances the ability of a person to solve problems. We can evaluate
concepts, definitions, arguments, and issues. It helps to organize thoughts and problems, to address
value concerns and to extract what is vital from a huge amount of information. It allows us to distinguish
between fine and subtle different perspectives on the one hand and to identify common ground
between different opinions on the other. It enables us also to integrate different ideas or viewpoints
into a cohesive whole.

And this past few days, I’ve been reading about the methods of philosophizing. It brings me further to
the understanding of the different methods used in taking different sources – To come up with the right
conclusion. This will lead us to eliminate opinions from facts and truths. This lesson introduced me in
different methods of knowing the truth

It is human nature to seek validation from others. The human person does it every day – seeking
approval from colleagues, friends and loved ones on numerous topics.

The human person seeks validation because he or she want to be right, not wrong.

And now I have 10 points to remember about this lesson.

First is Philosophizing means seeking the truth and engaging in a way to reveal the truth and fulfillment
of the purpose of the various stages of life and everything associated with it.

[no]

It is a kind of discourse on reality. It is essentially tied up with man’s openness towards the reality which
is being verbalized. It is the process of determining the truth or drawing a conclusion from a given
statement. It is not only deepening an understanding of something but also expanding awareness about
how something can be beneficial to us and to others.

[vid]

2nd is A method of philosophizing is a process of determining the truth or drawing a conclusion from
a statement in the use of various philosophical method such as:

Socratic

Dialectic
Scientific and;

Historical

3rd is The Socratic Method is developed by Socrates. It is a form of a cooperative argumentative

dialogue between individuals, based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking
and to draw out ideas and underlying presuppositions.

[no]

It is often used in medical and legal education in order to help students into more difficult concepts
and/ or principles.

4th is the dialectical method is developed by hegel – a method of argument or exposition that
systematically weighs contradictory facts or ideas with a view to the resolution of their real or
apparent contradictions.

[vid]

5th Scientific method developed by F, Bacon is also called an empirical method,

[no]

a process of determining truth or knowledge through experimentation, inductive and deductive

reasoning, hypothesis or theory testing.

[no]

6th is the Scientific method is a process for experimentation that is used to explore observations and
answer questions.

7th is the Historical Method deals with examining the past, to come up with present truths.

[vid]

8th is the primary sources consist of original documents, artifacts or other pieces of information that
were created at the time under study.

9th is the Secondary sources contain useful information, but typically involve an analysis of primary
source material. Books and magazines are common examples of secondary sources.

10th is the oral tradition consists of stories that are not written down but passed on verbally, usually
from an eyewitness to succeeding generation.
