DRAW ME A STORY

This activity asks you to apply some of the concepts and philosophical perspectives you learned from the
module Components and Functions of Art. It also requires your creativity in drawing. Here are the things
you need to do:

1. Spot or choose a specific area inside or outside your house (kitchen, gazebo, garden, bench
under the tree, fishpond, rice field, mountain in front of your house, etc.) where your most
unforgettable experience happened.
2. Draw that specific spot using bond paper. Use colors and other art materials that will help make
your drawing nicer.
3. Your artwork uses different concepts, one of them is imitation, one of philosophical perspectives
and assumptions of art. You are imitating a spot by drawing it in a paper. It is also a means of
communication. You are communicating your feeling or emotion connected with that scene.
Beneath your drawing, write the title of your artwork. Below the title, write the unforgettable
experience you had with the spot. Why draw and not take photo? That spot might have been
changed or renovated already.
Example:

Winter House Front

It’s the place we had lola’s last day with us. We took a picture in front of our house covered with snow.
Lola was leaving for the Philippines. But a week after she arrived in Mabini, she was rushed to a hospital.
She had brain aneurysm and did not survive. Lola can never come back but the winter house front
always reminds me of lola’s smiles, her love and care for us.

4. Rate your own drawing using the criteria suggested by Mojelski (2017). Be reasonable, rational,
and moral. This is a test of how honest you are to yourself and to the people who will be seeing
your artwork.
