𝑐𝑜𝑠 2 𝐴 + 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝐴 𝑐𝑜𝑠 2 𝑩 + 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝐵 𝑐𝑜𝑠 2 𝐶 + 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝐶

13 Using properties of determinants, prove that

1 𝑥 𝑥+1
[ 2𝑥 𝑥(𝑥 − 1) 𝑥(𝑥 + 1) ] = 6𝑥 2 (1 − 𝑥 2 )
3𝑥(1 − 𝑥) 𝑥(𝑥 − 1)(𝑥 − 2) 𝑥(𝑥 + 1)(𝑥 − 1)

14 2 3 4 −6

Punctuality and Obedience. School A decided to award a total of Rs 2200 for the three values to 3,
2 and 1 students respectively, while school B decided to award Rs 3100 for the three values to 4,1
and 3 students respectively. If the three prizes per person amount to Rs 1200,using matrices, find
the award prizes for each value.
23 Two institutions decided to award their employees for the three values of resourcefulness,
competence and determination in the form of prices at the rate of ₹x, ₹y, and ₹z respectively per
person. The first institution decided to award respectively 4,3 and 2 employees with a total prize
money of ₹37000 and the second institution decided to award respectively 5,3 and 4 employees
with a total prize money of ₹47000.If all the three prizes per person together amount to ₹ 12000 ,
then using matrix method find the values of x, y and z. What values are described in this question?
24 To raise money for an orphanage, students of three schools, A,B and C organized an exhibition in
their locality, where they sold paper bags, scrapbooks and pastel sheets made by them using
recycled paper at the rate of ₹20, ₹15 and ₹5 per unit respectively. School A sold 25 paper bags, 12
scrapbooks and 34 pastel sheets. School B sold 22 paper bags, 15 scrapbooks and 28 pastel sheets
while school C sold 26 paper bags, 18 scrapbooks and 36 pastel sheets. Using matrices, find the
total amount raised by each school. By such exhibition, which values are inculcated in the students?
