For me, the relevance of learning the subject ethics in facing today’s pandemic
is that we can make decisions with integrity, because the world is relying on our
innovation, commitment, courage and resilience.
It’s hard to stay positive these days. Take a look at your phone, turn on the TV
or pick up a newspaper, and the news about COVID-19 is all over the place, and it's
terrifying.
Worse, the limitations we're being asked to impose in order to reduce the
chance of the corona virus spreading are, to put it mildly, difficult for those who
would otherwise be enjoying the company of friends and coworkers. Instead, we're
hunkered down in our homes, scavenging for essentials and trying our best to be safe
while also ensuring the safety of others by maintaining a safe distance.
This pandemic has given us a chance to recognize our shared fragility and the
significance of working together to combat a disease that presents a serious danger to
our country and civilizations throughout the world. Recognize our dependency on one
another and encourage everyone's attempts to live responsibly as a key component of
surviving this pandemic.
