WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE RELEVANCE OF THE SUBJECT PHILO

101 - ETHICS IN FACING TODAY’S PANDEMIC ?

For me, the relevance of learning the subject ethics in facing today’s pandemic
is that we can make decisions with integrity, because the world is relying on our
innovation, commitment, courage and resilience.

It’s hard to stay positive these days. Take a look at your phone, turn on the TV
or pick up a newspaper, and the news about COVID-19 is all over the place, and it's
terrifying.

Worse, the limitations we're being asked to impose in order to reduce the
chance of the corona virus spreading are, to put it mildly, difficult for those who
would otherwise be enjoying the company of friends and coworkers. Instead, we're
hunkered down in our homes, scavenging for essentials and trying our best to be safe
while also ensuring the safety of others by maintaining a safe distance.

However, this is also a chance to reflect on yourself, to contemplate what you

value most, and to ponder how you will live a meaningful life.

Ethical living is always a collaborative effort. It all comes down to how we

live together, how we connect with one another, and how we bring out the best in one
other. Social connection is both the vehicle and the fuel for living ethically: it's how
we learn and grow, as well as where we see the results of our learning and growth.

This pandemic has given us a chance to recognize our shared fragility and the
significance of working together to combat a disease that presents a serious danger to
our country and civilizations throughout the world. Recognize our dependency on one
another and encourage everyone's attempts to live responsibly as a key component of
surviving this pandemic.

Therefore I conclude, as the corona virus pandemic continues, we must focus

on the beams of light shining through the clouds. Better yet, we must work to be the
light. Humanity has always been intrinsically connected, but now we’re seeing those
connections on a global  scale. These times may feel dark and unpredictable, but one
thing is certain: We will emerge stronger if we focus on and nourish the inter
connectivity that makes us human.
