PRACTICAL

TITLE:- PRACTICAL TRAINING OF REPLACEMENT OF VIBRATION


DAMPER ON 220 KV DEAD-END TOWER.

INTRODUCION:-

This procedure describes the steps in replacing vibration damper on 220 KV


dead end tower while the circuit is de-energized. The procedure, together with the application of
relevant safety rules and rigging information will ensure the work is carried out safely and efficiently.

T&P REQUIRED:-

 Pilot Rope
 Hand Line
 Basket with required T&P
 Grip All clamp stick + Earth Leads
 Strain Board

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED (PPE):-

 Line man Body Harness


 Lane Yard
 Safety Hat
 Boots

MATERIAL:-

Replace of vibration damper of proper size.

PROCEDURE:-

1. First of all obtain PTW on concerned circuit.


2. Pray to GOD for successful work and did tail board conference.
3. Took up the hand line with the help of pilot rope and install it on most convenient position on X
arm brace.
4. Take up the earth set and install it on conductor after teasing the line with the help of grip all.
5. Take up the strain board with the help of hand line and one side install on tower with strain board
chain and other side with conductor.
6. Take up the tool basket with required T&P and replace vibration damper and hang / install it near
working point where the line man easily use it.
7. Dismantle the defective damper weight. For this purpose loose nut bolts of vibration damper and
move near the suspension clamp for easy removal on conductor.
8. Take new vibration damper in tool basket and loose its nut bolts for easy move, installation and
adjustment on proper placement on conductor.
9. Adjust the vibration damper on its proper position and tight its nut bolts.
10. Remove the equipment and lower it to ground.
11. Cancel the PTW and normalize the system.

SAFETY PRECAUTION:-

1. PTW must be obtain on required circuit.


2. Approved T&P and PPE must be used.
3. All T&P must be checked before using.
4. The line must be teased before applying grounds.
5. While apply the ground first apply at ground end and then on conductor, and when removing
first remove from line and then remove from ground end.
6. All insulators sockets and key must be checked.
7. Good verbal communication is required of all crew members.
