Whenever you turn on your phone or computer, do you ever think
about how your phone works or where does the electricity from your
computer come from? The answer is hydroelectricity. First let us find
out what hydroelectricity is. Hydroelectricity is a form of energy that
harnesses the power of water in motion to generate electricity. Did
you know in 2015, hydropower generated 16.6% of the world's total
electricity and 70% of all renewable electricity? While there is good
from hydroelectricity, there is also bad. It can also cause
environmental threats, such as damaged animal habitats, get in the
way of fish migration, and less benefits of rivers.
