The complainant / victim was contacted via telephone and requested to come to the Lansing Michigan State
Police (MSP) Post to report the incident.

The below investigation was turned over to the MSP at the request of Lenawee County Sheriff Department,
Detective Gary Ward. Det. Ward had emailed the Monroe Post requesting MSP take the complaint due to
logistics. MSP Monroe Post requested the Lansing Post complete the investigation.

07/20/2016, came to the Lansing Post to report a criminal sexual conduct complaint. She
was interviewed and provided the below statement.

attended the country music concert, Faster Horses at the Michigan International Speedway over the
weekend of July 15, 2016. She reported on Monday, July 18th, she awoke naked and felt she had been
drugged.

stated she originally went to the concert with a girlfriend of hers, she met up with her friend on
Saturday and ended up staying with him at his campsite. On Sunday night she stayed in a motorhome on the
campsite that belonged to She awoke Monday morning naked, in bed with and
could feel in her vagina she had recently had sexual intercourse.

stated while at the concert, she and others at the campsite were drinking. On Sunday evening it
started to thunderstorm and her, and went in to the motorhome. added she is
scared of thunderstorms. After the rain let up, and exited the motorhome to find tent
had partially fallen from the storm. fixed the tent and stated he was going to sleep. expressed
to she was not going to be able to sleep in a tent during a thunderstorm. stood in the doorway of
the motorhome waiting to see if was going to stay in the motorhome. went back inside the
motorhome.

stated she sat at a table in a booth style seat. She sat with her back to the wall of the motorhome and
her legs extended in the booth toward the center of the motorhome. She was facing the side of the
motorhome that contained the entry door. described the motorhome as having a couch along the
wall near the entry door, this being across from where she was sitting in the booth. She stated to her right or
rear of the motorhome, was a kitchen, then a bathroom, across from the bathroom there is a cabinet; in the rear
of the motorhome there is a full bed.

As she was sitting in the booth, there was a conversation about the couch being wet and the ceiling leaking.
One of the males made the statement, they had "fucked" some girl there earlier and she was a squirter. The
other male responded that he had "fucked" the same girl in the same spot.

The conversation turned to staying the night in the motorhome. told if she wanted to
stay in his motorhome, she would have to suck his cock. said something to the effect, could
suck his cock or walk. stated she could walk to her vehicle.

A short time later, stated he was going to bed. As he was standing in the kitchen area of the
motorhome, he asked is she wanted some "haterade," ( explained was referring to
gatorade), stated she did, and handed her an orange bottle of gatorade, he had been drinking out

couch. After both men were asleep, went into the bathroom. She stated she was in the bathroom
for almost an hour before standing up. She stated when she stood up she felt as if the RV was swaying. She
stated she has never felt this way before and was confident it was not from drinking; she stated she had four
beers that evening between the hours of 10pm and 5am.

and continued to drink the gatorade. After a few minutes, began to feel dizzy, she stood up and felt
the need to lay down. stated there was no other place to lay down, so she lay in the bed next to

She stated she could see was asleep and he had his back to the center of the bed. She felt she could
sneak into the bed and he would not know she was there.

When she lay down on the bed, she was fully dressed in a sweatshirt, bra, underwear and shorts with spandix
inside them. She stated the only things she removed was her hat and her sandals.

stated she fell asleep as soon as she lay down. When she woke up she was naked. I asked her what
her first thought was. Banfield's response was "what the fuck; why am I naked." She stated her vagina felt as
if she had engaged in sexual intercourse.

She stated she does not remember having sex, but remembers a few sporadic events throughout the night.
stated she remembers at one point, telling her she is lucky to have him. She remembers at one
point being on top of and in her head she was yelling at herself as if to wake herself up. She remembers
hearing the song "Cowboy" by Kid Rock. also remembers a glimpse of the bathroom door being
opened into the hallway and the cabinet door on the other side being open as to block the hallway from the
remainder of the motorhome. She stated she could see the mirror that hung on the inside of the bathroom
door where she could see the reflection of the hallway back toward the bedroom. She stated she could not see
the bed, or herself in the mirror.

stated after waking up, she immediately looked for and found her clothing. She got dressed and
exited the motorhome. She went to tent and woke him stating they needed to leave.

stated she felt dirty and went to a gym in Okemos where she showered and shaved. After
showering, went to her family doctor who ultimately sent her to Sparrow Emergency Room to have a
sexual assault examination completed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
used her phone throughout the weekend as a video recorder. She is an avid user of snapchat, where
she post videos. In doing so, the above conversation reference statement about her sucking his cock is
on video. also has a video in which you can see the bottle of orange gatorade is drinking
prior to giving it to In the video, the fluid appears to be a bright orange color; when gives the
gatorade to she takes a photograph of the same bottle, at this point it appears to be a darker color.

07/29/16, the assault kit was retrieved from Sparrow Hospital and placed in a temporary property locker at the
Lansing Post. The assault kit will be forwarded to the Michigan State Police Lansing Laboratory.

RECONTACT COMPLAINANT:
I have spoken to on multiple occasions discussing the lack of evidence in the investigation. I
explained to her the lab found male DNA in the assault kit, however; there was an insufficient amount to
determine the donor.

over and she stated she gets "Stuck in thought loops." Over the course of the conversation, jumped
from one subject to the next.

On May 26, 2017, I received a phone call from I was traveling on vacation and she advised she
would contact me next week.

On May 30, 2017, I received a phone call from asking if she could drop the investigation. We
discussed the facts of the case and she requested the investigation be "dropped."
