In this revised curriculum, I added the subjects History and Philosophy of Science and ICT. As a student who
wishes to teach Physical Science, I think the first thing that you need to learn is about the underlying history and
philosophy of it so that you can better understand Science subjects. ICT was added since it is very timely and relevant
to the needs of the learners. I also removed the subjects Music and Earth and Environmental Science because these
are already being taught in the basic education program.

For the second semester, I already removed the laboratory units for Earth Science. Although Earth Science is
one of the major subjects in this curriculum, I think it does not have lessons that needs laboratory follow-ups. I also
reduced the number of units for Art Appreciation from 3 to 1 since art varies from an individual’s perspective. Lastly, I
added Komunikasyon sa Akademikong Filipino as a pre-requisite of Pagbasa at Pagsulat tungo sa Pananaliksik.

Since the students are now already on their second year, it is very important that the subjects are now
focused on their chosen profession and area of specialization. That is why I added the subjects The Teaching
Profession and Applied Math for Science Teachers. The students should already have a clear view of what teaching is
all about. I included the subject Applied Math for Science Teachers since the language of Science is Mathematics.
Based on experience, College Algebra and Trigonometry are purely Math subjects but as future Science teachers, the
students should learn how to apply those mathematical concepts into Science. Lastly, I added 3 more units for the
subject Mechanics because there are a lot of topics that should be discussed in this branch of Physics.

For the second semester of the second year, I removed the subjects Philippine Literature and Society and
Culture since these topics are already being discussed in the basic education and in other subjects such as Science,
Technology and Society. I also added here Philippine History, Roots, and Development because I think it should be
taken alongside with Philippine Government and Constitution, as well as Guidance and Counseling with Facilitating
Learning. Lastly, I included one (1) lab unit for Thermodynamics since there are some topics that need laboratory
follow ups.

For this semester, I substituted the subject Technical Writing in place of World Literature. I believe that it is
better for the future teachers to know how to formally construct letters since they will be professionals working with
other professionals. I also moved Astronomy to this semester since I have observed that the second semester is
already crowded.

In this semester, I included the subject Teaching Strategies because it is very essential in the field of teaching
especially before the students go out to their cooperating school for practice teaching. Based on experience, during
my practice teaching days, it was quite hard for me to devise a lesson plan since I have few ideas on the appropriate
strategies that I should use for a certain topic.
