D. SITUATION
The location of the Philippines makes it vulnerable to natural disasters including frequent
earthquakes, volcanic eruptions as well as tsunamis, sea-level rise, storm surges, landslides, flooding
and drought. The need to reduce the risk of disasters will be a key to achieving development goals in
the country. In our little ways, we can do something to reduce these risks. Writing a poem as an
expression of suggestions to lessen the effect of a calamity is just one of the platforms learners can use
to share their advocacies and create an impact in the community they live in. Enhancing such
competency needs the support and guidance of teachers, parents and other members of the family
and the community as a whole.
E. PRODUCT
A free-verse poem of 3 to 4- stanza to be submitted and evaluated by the teachers in AP, MAPEH,
Filipino, English, ESP, Science regardless of the Grade Level they teach and the School Head.
