➔ In groups of 3-4 you will change the scenario to one that exhibits a growth mindset.

Scenario 1
Rebecca and Angel are siblings who compete at everything. Rebecca struggles with drawing
while Angels excels at it. One day, the art teacher at school is leading an art competition for
a pizza party in class. Rebecca really wants to win the pizza party for her class, but believes
that her brother will beat her. Her best friend Alexis tries to cheer her up but Rebecca
believes there is no point in trying.

Scenario 2

Jaiden tries really hard in his math class. He attends afterschool programs, does all of his
homework and still sees very little improvement in his grades. After seeing his failing grade
on an exam he spent all night studying for; Jaiden walks out of his Math class. His friends
ask if they can go comfort him.

Scenario 3

Julie is considered the jack of all trades amongst her peers. She never puts in any effort
because she knows what to do and doesn’t require much struggle. She usually is one of the
first to finish and spends time goofing off or distracting others because she is bored. Her

peers try to share their observations and advise her on shifting her mindset.

Scenario 4
Andre is failing his History class and needs to get an A on his project in order to pass. He is
working tirelessly on a project that he finds challenging. He made a huge error on it and
wants to give up, much like he has on every other assignment he has submitted in the class.
His friends intervene.
