QUARTER 2

Name: _______________________________________________ Date: __________________________

Grade & Section: ______________________________________ Score: __________________________
Students Signature: ____________________________________ Parents Signature: ________________

CONTENT STANDARDS
The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of sets and the real number system.
PERFORMANCE TASK
The learner is able to formulate real-life problems involving measurements and solve these using a variety of
strategies.

MEASURE IT UP!
Goal: To cite practical applications of sets through presentation of different personal collections.
Role: A surveyor
Audience: Teacher/Student
Situation:
Approximating measure of quantities can be done while staying at home. This task will give you more of
real-life experience in which you can apply what you have learned in this module.
Given the 5 objects/areas that can be found in your house, estimate the measure of: a) length, and b)
width. After you estimate the measurement of each object, measure using a measuring tool (use the indicated unit
of measure). Use the table below for the task and answer the questions that follow.
Product: A well-answered activity sheet and photos as proof of doing the task.
Note:
1. This will be done individually.
2. Send your photos during the time you measure the given objects/areas showing its corresponding
measurements thru the FB Messenger app. If not available, you can print your photos and submit it
together with your answer sheet.
Standards:
Three point will be given for each correct measurements, otherwise 1 point.

Questions: (3 points each)

1. In estimating the length of the selected objects, what difficulties did you encounter? Explain.

2. In estimating the width of the selected objects, what difficulties did you encounter? Explain.

3. In estimating the mass of the selected objects, what difficulties did you encounter? Explain.

4. Which is easier to do between estimation and measurement using a measuring tool? Discuss the
advantages and disadvantages of each.
