As said by researchers Ruth Maxine Flores, Vince Joell Feratero, Shant Kenneth Cobaria

Soneja, and Ros Peter Angelo Rodelas Gonzales, incorrect garbage disposal is one of the most
widespread environmental issues in the country. In which it may have an impact on Filipinos'
current way of life. They used garbage burning as one of their proofs of incorrect waste
disposal. They claim it has negative consequences such as wildfires and health issues including
asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema.

According to Pervez Alam and Kafeel Ahmade, the high rate of solid waste increase is
mainly due to urbanization and growing populations. They claim that these two elements are
the primary reasons why solid waste disposal is such a major issue in today’s world. As per their
research, improper solid waste disposal and management affects all forms of pollution,
including air, soil, and water.

To address this issue, a group of researchers led by Kisron, Bima Sena Bayu Dewantara,
and Fernando Ardilla, created a robotic invention in which they called “E-TrashBot (EEPIS Trash
Bin Robot)”.  This robot's sole purpose is to gather trash. They gave it an availability status to
know how long the battery would last and how full the trash was. They also added the ability
for the robot to communicate with the operator, which they created using TelegramBot. When
the robot stops due to a problem or a malfunction, it can also transmit a status message to the
operator.
