Item description : DN1000 PY2.5 Russian Gate Valves

Introduction

This document is to be used as a guide and to record data / dimensions for carrying out site survey at QAWTP.

The purpose of this survey is to obtain dimensions and data from three DN1000 PY2.5 Russian gate valves to allow
new Rotork actuators/gearboxes to be fitted. The valves that are to be surveyed are detailed below:
 QA01-840-MOV-0023 (Filter 2 – Valve 3)
 QA01-840-MOV-0024 (Filter 2 – Valve 4)
 QA01-840-MOV-0103 (Filter 10 – Valve 3)

Method

The following method is to be followed to obtain the information required to source new Rotork actuators for the
three DN1000 PY2.5 Russian gate valves located in the QAWTP Filter House as listed above.

1. Identify and locate each valve.

2. Ensure Scaffolding is in place to allow safe removal of gearbox and to obtain dimensions and data from
valve / gearbox.

3. Check that crane is available to allow gearbox removal and all required lifting equipment is available and in
good condition.

4. Ensure applicable permits are in place to allow surveys to be completed.

The following steps are to be followed for each of the three listed valves.

5. Take photos of existing set up and record any valve and gearbox / actuator details from OEM tags, cast
markings etc (see Appendix 1).

6. Site operators to isolate actuator prior to removal.

7. SPM / site personnel to remove gearbox / actuator.

8. Take dimensions of valve topworks using the templates / sketch sheets provided (see Appendix 2, 3 and 4).

9. Take photos of valve topworks.

10. SPM / site personnel to re-fit gearbox / actuator.

11. Clear all tooling and consumables from area.

12. QAWTP operators to reconnect actuators to plant system and check functionality of assembly.

13. Permits to be returned to the permit office and closed.
