CHAPTER I

1.1 Problem Statement:-

Due to the ongoing corona pandemic mask has become mandatory.

Only mask will help to prevent the corona virus, until we get fully
vaccinated. So the mask is most important for protect people from this Please Wear A Mask
dangerous virus. Yet some people not aware about this pandemic and not
wearing mask. There’s still much to learn about this new disease. Even though people now getting
vaccinated, it might still take time before it’s safe to return to normal. Until then, wearing masks
has been shown to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
So it can be frustrating to see people who aren’t following the advice of medical experts.
Some reasons of why peoples not wearing masks:-
 Not believing that COVID-19 is a serious illness
 Feeling like their area is safe or has only a few infections
 Disliking some of the effects of face covering (like making it feel harder to breathe, or
thinking they aren’t heard or understood).
 A reaction to what they feel is too much government control.
 Not agreeing that mask help prevent the spread of coronavirus.
 Not wanting to show fear or vulnerability.

1.2 Aim & Objectives:-

1. To Motivate people for wearing a mask.

2. To solve community problems.
3. To explain peoples how to prevent covid-19.
4. To change thinking of people about uses of masks.
1
1.3Project Description:-
To make people realize about seriousness of corona virus and benefits of masks, encourage peoples
to use masks whenever necessary like going out of home, also to tell them about social distance
and use of sanitizer.
1. The project was conducted by DIEMS students with guidance of Charthana
Grampanchayat and under the leadership of Mr. Aniruddha Chavan.
2. Rohit Valse and Ganesh Tayde was the organizer.
3. We form the two groups of volunteers.
 First group was distributing masks.
 Second group was raising awareness about the novel corona virus.

1.4 Key Success :-

After doing this project, many people became aware that masks should be used. Since then, the
number of people wearing masks has increased. This project was benefited to all of the people who
daily going out of home and also benefited for us because of small attempt to stop the spread of
covid-19 disease. It is very important for health to use mask when going in the rush or out of home
to prevent the covid-19 disease. Not wearing a masks was like inviting corona, and we also told
people about how to use masks properly and benefits of using sanitizer regularly and maintain
social distance out of home. Because of this project we helped to peoples for prevention of covid-
19 disease.

1.5 Major Obstacles faced:-

During completion of this project we faced lot of problems like firstly police were not allowed to
leave the home for completing project as section 144 was applicable, peoples refuse to take masks
from us, people misbehaved with us while we were distributing masks, many people talked rudely
like “saying that you are taking photos for publicity” and they refused to wear masks because of
some reasons, but still we tried our best to convince those people & distributed masks and also
raised awareness about prevention of covid-19 successfully.

CHAPTER II

Project Activities:-

We wanted to do some social work but didn’t get the opportunity, but we got opportunity because
university offered community service in the curriculum and we decided that it would be appropriate
to distributing masks and awaken people during this dangerous time of corona virus. On the 24th
of april, at 11 am, me and my friends and grampanchayat officials were gathered and planned
whole program. We started with the people providing the essential services and then we distributed
the masks to the rest of people and explained how we can protect ourselves and our family from
covid-19. Our village has a population of 10,000 but with the help of friends and grampanchayat
officials we completed the work and made a small contribution to the people by participating with
the government in this battle of corona. We are happy that the village police gave us the opportunity
to serve the public by allowing us. We also thanked Mr. Amle and Mr. Chavan for their valuable
guidance. We said to the grampanchayat officials that we would be in the forefront in providing
such services to the people of the village when any help was needed. The small program of social
service ended at 3 pm.

Lesson Learnt:-

1. Gained confidence.
2. Met new people. Volunteering can help you meet different kinds of people and make new
friends.
3. To be part of a community.
4. Learned new skills.
5. Learned to take on a challenge.

Conclusion:-
After doing this project I conclude that,
 My eyes have been opened to see the needs of citizens within our local community and
those around the world. These needs are being met by organizations who are partnering
with volunteers such as myself. Our research and volunteer experience have hopefully
helped us to discover that “giving back” is a rewarding role of being a citizen and not
only benefits those in need, but it benefits us too. I will continue to volunteer and more
importantly, persuade and motivate others to do the same.
